Chris Stapleton swung down to Jacksonville, FL with George Straight on his All-American Road Show tour Saturday night, and at the end of his set, the Kentucky songbird welcomed two local hometown heroes, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi to sit in on his signature cover of “Tennessee Whiskey”.

“Just for tonight, we got a couple extra band members,” Stapleton told the crowd after introducing the members of his band. “This is two of my favorite people and two of my favorite musicians in the whole wide world, and they’re from right here in Jacksonville, Florida. Please make ’em welcome, Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks everybody!”

Incredulous reactions among the audience are audible in fan-shot video and convey the excitement at EverBank Stadium as the Tedeschi Trucks Band leaders took the stage. Along with Stapleton’s band, the trio delivered an unforgettable rendition of written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove and originally recorded by David Allan Coe for his album of the same name in 1981.

Stapleton’s All-American Road Show tour continues later this month, picking back up on May 22nd in Rapid City, SD, the same night that TTB kicks off its Deuces Wild tour with two nights in Portland, OR.
