You can tell that the beta dudebro interviewer just isn't having it. He just does not give two fucks about Tori, and was hoping Annie would spend the entire segment tongue-bathing Dave.
Chills. So rare to find another artist who really gets (or can see or admit) the genius of Tori. Awesome.
Compared to Tori Amos, eras sucks big monkey balls as far as creativity goes.
You know, Tori did piano pain, heartbreak truth, storytelling strength eons before Taylor. There’s no way her influence isn’t there. I don’t think Tori remotely gets the credit she deserves. It’s interesting hearing a younger artist like this giving her kudos somehow validates her. Hearing her music now still feels so modern and fresh and light years away from anyone else.
Taylor Swift covers “A sorta fairytale” solo with an acoustic guitar. The influence is worn on her sleeve.

It is very validating to hear Annie Clark talk about her obsession with FTCH, because I have always heard Tori's influence in her music and especially FTCH on her debut. Songs like Paris is Burning and Your Lips Are Red sound like they could be on that record IMO.
