“If I die again, I could stay dead. Failure is not an option.”

While promoting her new film Boy Kills World in an interview with Screen Geek, Jessica Rothe touched on the Happy Death Day series saying that director Chris Landon has an idea for what would be the third film in the franchise.

“I can say Chris Landon has the whole thing figured out,” Rothe told the website. “We just need to wait for Blumhouse and Universal to get their ducks in a row. But my fingers are so crossed. I think Tree deserves her third and final chapter to bring that incredible character and franchise to a close or a new beginning.”

Released on October 13, 2017, Happy Death Day earned a whopping $125.5 million on a budget of only $4.8 million. The sequel, titled Happy Death Day 2U, was released on February 13, 2019.
