Season 2

The second season of Hulu's series Love, Victor premiered on June 11, 2021^[2] and consists of ten episodes.

On August 7, 2020, Hulu renewed the series for a second season.^[3]

Synopsis[]

The popular teen dramedy returns as season two finds a newly out-of-the-closet Victor entering his junior year at Creekwood High. But being out brings with it new challenges as Victor faces a family struggling with his revelation, a heartbroken ex-girlfriend in Mia, and the difficulties of being an openly gay star athlete — all while navigating the excitement of his relationship with Benji.^[4]

Production[]

By February 2020, Hulu brass appeared bullish on the show and commissioned a writers’ room to start exploring stories for a possible second season.^[9]

On August 7, 2020, Hulu renewed the series for a second season.^[3] The table read for season 2 started on October 13, 2020.^[10]

The second season premiered on June 11, 2021.^[2]

Casting[]

On November 2, 2020, it was reported that Betsy Brandt had been cast for season 2 as Dawn, Felix's mother, who struggles with mental health issues.^[11] On November 13, 2020, was reported that Ava Capri and Anthony Keyvan would be joining season 2.^[12] On February 28, 2021, it was revealed that Sean O'Bryan would be playing a new character, Father Lawrence.^[13]

Filming[]

Filming for the second season began on November 9, 2020.^[14]

On December 31, 2020, Disney Television Studios paused production on multiple projects, including Love, Victor, due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.^[15] The production wrapped on March 14, 2021.^[16]

Soundtrack[]

The soundtrack for the second season, featuring 8 original songs by artists within the LGBTQIA+ community and all co-written and co-produced by singer/songwriter Leland, was released on June 11, 2021, by Hollywood Records.^[17]^[18]^[19]^[20]
