One of the best meals we have had. It was perfect!

Delicious glass of Tempranillo wine, followed by messe dips with fresh pita, cucumber salad (amazing), ceviche scallops, and roasted pumpkin! Deliciousness!!!! The food was so fresh, and the flavors were amazing. I can’t wait to eat here again. We sat at the bar which we love. Excellent service and atmosphere. Seriously the best meal we’ve had in a really long time. Wow!

MAKE A RESERVATION and get ready for a GREAT TIME!

I HIGHLY recommend checking this place out! Great variety of Hot and Cold Tapas, pizza and wine/bar! I will definitely be back! GREAT SERVICE too! I took a friend there for her Birthday, and although she had never experienced anything like these dishes, she was very happy, and that's NOT an easy thing to accomplish! We started with the Grilled Bread with Ricotta fantastic, Deviled Eggs-Delish! Scallops with squid ink! So light and airy like a note of citrus and flowers on your tongue! We progressed thru a couple others, I don't recall, and then to the Lamb Kebobs and Lamb Ribs-Very different in seasonings and delightful both! I enjoyed a couple of glasses of Rose wine, and then I had the Coconut cake with Passion Fruit sorbet...What a great combination! And my friend had the Chocolate Bobka with House made Vanilla Ice cream! Incredible evening! DO MAKE reservations! The Chef is a James Beard Award Winner and this place is packed EVERY NIGHT! We were there on a Monday late afternoon, and it was bustling inside and out at that point. When we left 1.5 hours later, there were no tables available!!!! that's how good this place is!

Traveling The Mediterranean: Nice, Athens, Barcelona ... Kansas City?

Let’s just say that the Mediterranean has extended itself to KCMO. The lunch menu has delicacies that lean more on Middle East and Southern Europe (Greece) specialties. We had the Cucumber salad and Farro salad as starters. If you are someone who looks at salad as a necessary food group and not as delicious standalone, you won’t be thinking that after trying these two. Tons of flavor and different textures made these very special. The trout was tasty and the shrimp skewer with chimichurri was amazing. Our server, Kelly, was great in explaining the dishes (and running from table to table to make sure everyone had what they needed). It was great chatting with her about her home country, Peru. A must lunch stop if you have the time in KCMO. And... this is Chef Michael Smith's "Other" restaurant in KCMO. Next door, is the amazing Farina. You need to try both.

Folks, this place is the bomb!!! The tapas atmosphere is great!! Happy hour is a great deal Mon-Fri The food and drinks are great. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The salads are fabulous. Super menu

So glad we chose to visit Extra Virgin

Just had a wonderful meal and cocktails at Extra Virgin on our last night in KC. Couldn't have chosen better. Delicious food (had the grilled bread & ricotta, the woodfired shrimp and lamb kebab), excellent and unusual cocktails (loved the Last Word and Sazerac) and lovely service from all of the staff. Special thanks to Namira (sorry if I have mis-spelled) for 5-star attention and churros for my husband's birthday dessert. Such kind and thoughtful service was so very much appreciated. Hoping we will be back soon but, until then, keep doing what you're doing because it's fab!

We ordered 5 different plates here (they're all shareables) and really only liked one of the dishes a lot (falafel). The others ones were not balanced in ingredients or flavors. Drinks were good, but nothing spectacular.

Great dinner

We had the Morocco Land tagine. It was excellent. Very tasty , one order was split between two people and we still couldn't finish it. Service was excellent. The wait staff was professional, friendly and helpful. It was a little noisy, but tolerable. I wish I had not seen a cook eating something. He had his latex gloves on but used them for both cooking and eating. Hard to imagine in 2022.

Best happy hour!

If you are in downtown KC this is a must stop for happy hour! Half priced tapas and the food is amazing! Ahi tuna was to die for along with other unique plates of roasted carrots and feta!

Excellent Dinner!

We had an excellent dinner outdoors at Extra Virgin! Everything was very nicely prepared, with fresh ingredients and there were lots of options for the veggie members of our group. Its sort of the place where you order everything to share, and it ended up making for a fun evening. Quite a bit of Ottolenghi influence on the menu and style, but that's a good thing as far as I am concerned. Also the cocktails are excellent! From now on I will be mixing my Old Fashions with Rieger's KC whiskey! Also the service was great. Highly recommended!

WONDERFUL SERVICE!!!!!!

I came here Friday with 3 of my girlfriends and we had a wonderful time. Our waitress, Mira (I believe that is how she spelled it) was absolutely amazing. She was incredibly accommodating and gave us great recommendations. She was courteous and had the most pleasant demeanor. I would do anything to hold on to this employee, because she is the best ever! The food was also amazing. We can't wait to come back! (don't forget about our standing reservation Mira, lol!)

Such a Disappointment!

We went to Extra Virgin for my daughter’s birthday and I was so disappointed. Three of the items we ordered were never brought to us even after we reminded them. Two of the dishes we ordered they brought us two instead of one. The menu was out of four entrees. Server wasn’t very attentive. Won’t be going back anytime soon!!

Great food, fantastic cocktails! Friendly staff

Really amazing food and cocktails. Spanish tapas/small plates, but the portions were generous and quality was high. Really great happy hour from 4-6 with a wide selection of half off menu items and discounted cocktails (not the cheap kind). Bartenders were super friendly and knowledgeable. For a city that's pretty sleepy right now due to the pandemic, this place was pleasantly lively.

Great Experience

We were sitting on a gift card we had as a gift for six years (yes really) due to having too many others to use and finally decided to go for lunch. I must say we felt pretty ignorant for waiting so long! Jennifer provided our service and hospitality and she was amazing. Always on the mark and was a very personable kind professional. We both decided on the Smith Burger for a first try at the eclectic restaurant. My God we both voted it the best Burger we ever had. It's flavor and fresh accompaniments were like none other we have had. The fresh cut fries and Port Ketchup also fantastic and more than one can eat. We also both chose their red sangria that paired really nicely with the amazing Burger. For anyone on the fence of trying this well ran trendy warm establishment, hop off and go. Very good and can't wait until we return. Cheers!

Went with friends. We all really enjoyed our experience. The service is excellent and our server Makala was top notch. The craft cocktails are very good, I love the spin on their names. The espresso martini is probably the best I have ever had. The mixologists are experts in their craft. I loved to varied menu operating under a Spanish tapas framework. Tried to duck tongue tacos they were good, can’t say I am a raving fan like others. The shrimp was delicious. I loved the crunchy texture of the fried rice. Homemade penne pasta with vodka sauce was excellent. If you are a foodie, you will love Extra Virgin. Recommend you make reservations early.
