SONY ACADEMY AWARD WINNING SONGWRITER FROM COUNTY DURHAM

“The Keeker Seam” – Jez publishes his FOURTH novel.

Jez’s latest novel, “The Keeker Seam” was published by Badapple Books on May 1st. It’s his fourth book, following on from “The Dillen Doll” (2017), “The Corly Croons” (2019), “Piper’s Lonnen” (2022), and continues the story of wary Southerner Evan Piper and his coterie of friends, odd-bods and eccentric characters, set to a backdrop of mystery and music in mid-19th Century Newcastle Upon Tyne.
The book comes with a link to a set of down-loadable newly-recorded songs that feature in or were inspired by the story, including a new Jez Lowe composition, as well as some traditional songs from North East England. The link is included in a special presentation book-mark that comes with every copy of the book. The songs are “The Keeker Seam” (a new original), “The Coal Owner and the Poor Pitman’s Wife”, “The Putter” and “The Coal Trade”.
The new book is available now, mail-order from the SHOP page on this website, to anywhere in the world.
Jez is currently out on tour with The Pitmen Poets, who also have a new CD on sale at all the shows, entitled “Re-Union”, it includes three Jez Lowe songs among the ten tracks – “Hoping Mr. Loach”, “Barry and The Anthracites” and a new version of “A Long Walk Home”, which first appeared on the 1994 album “Banners”, and was also included on the “Art Edition” re-issue of the “Tenterhooks” album that came out in 2003. This new version has new verses and is sung by all four members of The Pitmen Poets.
