This DVD is packed with footage that spans Bruce Dickinson's solo career from when he started his solo venture up to Tyranny of Souls. There are three full concerts on Anthology. The first one, Dive Dive Live, is when Dickinson was touring for Tattooed Millionaire. That show is pure raw rock 'n roll energy and probably the most entertaining concert out of the three. The next show featured is from Dickinson's Skunkworks era, which has a very alternative rock vibe. The third concert is when Dickinson's band played in Brazil supporting The Chemical Wedding. That show doesn't have professional quality footage, but is my favorite out of the three simply because of the quality of the songs and the fact that Adrian Smith, Bruce Dickinson, and Roy Z are all on the same stage. There's even more to Anthology than concert footage; All of Dickinson's music videos are featured, with Bruce giving informative and entertaining background stories about each one. There's also a good interview with Dickinson about the Tyranny of Souls album, and he also talks about other things such as the songwriting process and his collaborations with Roy Z. Another treat is Samson's entertaining "Biceps of Steel" mini movie, which is from Dickinson's days before he was in Iron Maiden. Bruce Dickinson fans will definitely get their fill with all this material packed in Anthology.

Superb value albeit the contents are of variable quality.
Dive Dive Dive is as I remember it. A poor quality video with Bruce only having one album , avoiding Maiden numbers (bar one later recorded by Maiden), avoiding Samson numbers (bar one they didn't write), and a few covers, every track has to be drawn out elongated by Gers making various Blackmore like noises on guitar, Drum solos and crowd participations. Still it's not bad at least there are superb songs such as "No lies" and "son of a gun" albeit their impact is reduced by the soloing and crowd gimmicks.
Skunkworks is pretty dire. A very mediocre video , an awful band, and few songs of merit.
Scream for me Brazil is better albeit bootleg standard and average metal predominates. "Tears of the Dragon", "Killing floor" and "Laughing in the hiding bush" stand out as worthy of further review.
Samson's _ Biceps of Steel_ is hilarious, so bad it's funny
In truth Samson are one of my fave bands of all time. I remember seeing them in 1979 and 1980 with great fondness. In fact the only time I've ever sang into a mic was on the _Head on_ tour! , I really got carried away cos I can't sing!
However much of Bruce's Iron Maiden work I can take or leave and since the first of his solo albums I buy them then then disappointedly never play them after the first listen finding nothing there to excite me. One thing this superb value DVD does is to make me listen to the albums again to see if there is anything else there above the mediocrity, because I certainly found a few tracks in this which deserve reappraisal.
