This popular trail has both paved and gravel options (the "Heels Path") and goes by attractions such as Jefferson Lake, McDonnell Planetarium, Missouri History Museum, Forest Park Golf Course, and the St. Louis Zoo.
The park is very easy to navigate. There are 30 miles of trails that run through the park, and this loop only represents the perimeter. There are bike racks at all the different places that you can stop and visit. You can pick up a detailed map from the visitors center which is very helpful; however, they do have basic maps placed along the trails throughout the park. Exploring the park by bike is definitely a great way to see the park. It allows you to cover the vast area in the most efficient way.
Accessibility: There are 8 designated accessible spaces in the paved parking lot off of Washington Drive at the north end of the trail. All of them are van-accessible with striped access aisles. The trail surface is pavement, smooth, and typically at least 5 feet wide. There are painted dividing lines along the trail which reduces the width.
The estimated grade is mostly gentle (5% or less) except for moderately steep (5-8%) sections at about 3.1 miles downhill, 3.7 miles uphill, and 4.4 miles downhill when going clockwise. Trail goers using wheelchairs/mobility equipment or strollers may need assistance in the steeper sections or to avoid them for safety. There are benches and picnic tables along the route for resting.

Walked around Forest Park on a weekday afternoon, it was pretty great! Huge park, easy to get lost but there's maps scattered around to help with that sometimes. Lots of free museums in the park, and the bodies of water were quite soothing. Some parts of the trail were muddy but not too bad. Saw some people around running, biking, walking, not too many though!
