Sorry I Didn’t Know gets a fifth series

Jimmy Akingbola, Chizzy Akudolu and Eddie Kadi will all return

ITV has ordered a fifth season of Sorry I Didn’t Know, its panel show based on black history.

Jimmy Akingbola  returns as host alongside regular team captains Chizzy Akudolu and Eddie Kadi for the new episodes, which are due to be taped this summer.

The programme is made by TriForce Productions and is said to be the longest-running TV show produced by a company led by black creatives. And, as on previous seasons, a trainee writer will be assigned to the show to help develop their career.

TriForce co-founderFraser Ayres told Deadline, which broke the news of the new commission: ‘We’re thrilled to be working with ITV once more on this groundbreaking series and are looking forward to showcasing the best in new and established on screen comedy talent.’

The last season ran at 11.05pm on Sundays in November and December last year.
