  1. That's it from Cardiff... thank you and goodnight

So that's all from us here in Cardiff tonight as boxing returned in the UK with a decisive victory for Chris Eubank Jr, who did everything he said he would do against Liam Williams.

The Welsh crowd obviously wanted to see their man do the business, but there can be no denying Eubank fully deserved his victory. It was credit to Williams he managed to see the final bell.

Thank you for following along with us and we hope you enjoyed the action.

    Nos da.

  2. Who next for Eubank Jr?

There is plenty of talk on social media after Chris Eubank Jr's performance.

After such a dominant performance, who could the Briton face next?

Gennady Golovkin? Billy Joe Saunders? Conor Benn? He seems to fancy his chances against Eubank Jr after tonight.

  4. Post-fight reactions

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Heartbreak for Williams but joy for Eubank.

He really loves the villain tag these days. He hasn't stuck around, let me tell you, almost straight out of the ring and on his way.

  5. Result: Eubank wins on points

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Chris Eubank Jr is awarded a comfortable points decision

There is no drama on the scorecards as Eubank is given a wide points decision.

The three judges see it 116-109, 116-108, 117-109 in Eubank's favour.

  6. Round 12

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

It's another thrilling round. Williams' long right lands on Eubank before his left counter collides with Williams.

Eubank is dancing in the ring - much to the fury of the crowd - which prompts Williams to stand still and wait for the taunts to end. They don't - but the final bell does come.

    Chris Eubank Jr celebrates

Eubank is being booed as he celebrates on the ropes following the final bell.

You haven't been able to take your eyes off this one, but amazingly we go to the scorecards...

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Liam Williams is knocked down for a fourth time by Chris Eubank Jr

Knockdown! - and it's Williams again.

Eubank misses with a huge uppercut after the two fighters get wrapped up before dropping the home fighter for the fourth time.

It seems years since the last knockdown but Eubank has put his foot on the gas again and it shows.

    One more round to go!

  8. Round 10

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Eubank perhaps senses he needs to step it up because he is much busier in the 10th round.

He lands a big right on Williams, who shakes it off.

  9. Round 9

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Williams is growing into this fight now. Eubank's counters are not finding their home as they once were and Williams lands another right on the chin of his opponent.

The referee has to get involved again in this round, warning Williams about hitting below the belt.

Williams is getting closer to going the distance, which is a remarkable feat considering how the first five rounds went.

  10. Round 8

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Chris Eubank Jr avoids a punch from Liam Williams

Eubank is still throwing counters and looking remarkably relaxed for a man in a fight.

Williams lands a good right hand but Eubank just laughs it off. The rivals continue to exchange words in the centre of the ring, the talking never stops.

There is quite a bit of swelling under the right eye of Williams but the Welshman battles on. These rounds are closer, but Eubank, to my eye, is still on top.

  11. Round 7

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Liam Williams is held back by the referee

Williams is chasing Eubank but he gets told off by the referee twice for going after his opponent once they're pulled apart.

It's another good round for Williams but Eubank still looks comfortable, even if he has slowed down.

  12. Round 6

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Liam Williams holds Chris Eubank Jr over the ropes

Williams has just had his best round. The Welshman has been all at sea for much of this fight, but he is still coming forward.

He is yet to hurt Eubank but Williams can count that round in his favour. Midway point of the fight, Eubank is likely streaks ahead on the scorecards.

It will take a miracle for Williams to win this from here...but stranger things have happened in boxing!

  13. Round 5

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Chris Eubank Jr lands an uppercut against Liam Williams

Eubank is firing off uppercuts now and urging Williams to stand and fight.

Williams keeps stepping into shots with Eubank in full flow. His counters are powerful and precise, but the partisan crowd continue to cheer on their man with every small victory.

Eubank continues to talk to Williams. Can he find the knockout blow?

  14. Round 4

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Liam Williams takes a count from the referee

Williams is down for the third time! He's trying desperately to land a glove on Eubank and is roared on by the crowd but he walks into another counter.

It is all Eubank now and his confidence is clearly sky high. He's smirking at Williams and goading him throughout.

    Can Williams come back?

  15. Round 2

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Chris Eubank Jr knocks Liam Williams to the canvas

    Knockdown number two!

Eubank Jr is taking control now and is all over Williams. Williams is floored again early on, but picks himself up again.

This time it is a right hand, left hook from Eubank that puts Williams down.

The crowd is incensed but can the Welshman survive much longer?

  16. Round 1

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

Chris Eubank Jr sends Liam Williams to the canvas

A knockdown in round one! Williams stumbles to the canvas and beats the count after a quick counter from Eubank.

It was so quick I barely caught it myself but Williams did appear to be hurt from it.

Eubank is unable to do any more damage, but that will be his round after the knockdown.

  17. It's almost time!

Chris Eubank Jr v Liam Williams

    Liam Williams enters the ring

The ring walks are through and the fighters are in the ring. Liam Williams made his walk after the crowd was set alight by Tom Jones' classic "Delilah".

Williams is wearing blue and white shorts with pink stripes while Chris Eubank Jr is draped in white fur and sparkling red shorts.

Eubank Jr was predictably welcomed to the ring by a chorus of boos, but he seems as cool as can be.

    Here we go!
