This collection is now hard to get hold of, Polydor (for reasons only they know) happy instead to still be flogging the inferior ABBA Gold DVD with its 19 videos compared to the 35 on this DVD. Here you get the rarely seen promo videos made for songs that were only singles in a handful of countries: "That's Me", "Bang-a-Boomerang", "Happy New Year", "Eagle", "When All Is Said and Done", as well as clips for the lesser selling hits at the start of their career like "Ring Ring" or "I Do, I Do, I Do" or the 'flop' singles at the tail end of the group's reign such as "Head Over Heels", "Under Attack" and the classic "The Day Before You Came". Add to the mix some album tracks that somehow got videos made for them (the cute "When I Kissed The Teacher", "One Man One Woman") and their Spanish language singles, you can see why ABBA Gold really is a poor deal. As a huge part of the affection ABBA are held in is related to the visual side of their identity, having all their promo videos is a must for any fan. This is the video collection you need.

35 clips, including 3 in Spanish (in case of you are interested ...). One third of pop masterpieces, two thirds of good songs.
Visually speaking, it is a riot: I have never seen people so outrageously badly dressed, and I don't mention the hairstyles and the make-up. It must be seen to be believed ! You don't need to inhale anything to get high when you look at this ! If you have only heard them, you miss a lot ...
Well, despite the corniness, the bad taste, the risk to be looked down by "serious" music lovers in RYM, I always feel good when I play this.
"Thank You for the Music", Benny and Björn !

The nice thing about early promo clips - for any band - is that they're essentially conceptless. And when they're not (I guess "Strawberry Fields Forever" had... something going on), the mere fact of artifact makes them charming.
And thus it is with ABBA. They didn't make many stylistic leaps (from the pure-white of "Ring Ring" to the pure-white-with-chairs of "Take a Chance on Me" to the red-drenched crowd scene of "Does Your Mother Know?"), but with songs as strong as these, who cares? It's nice to see ABBA in performance, and Agnetha and Benny seem the most happy to be here, but if you didn't care for "On and On and On" before, the filmed form isn't gonna change anything. The only tragedy, as far as I'm concerned, is that there's no video for "The Visitors". Such is life.

_The Full Monty_. Every single promo clip they produced with this supernatural wonderful quartet from 1974 to 1982 is gathered here, supported of course by the respective music in the best possible sound quality. Flawless!
Except of a gallery with hundreds of photos, there are no further bonuses on the DVD, but who cares? The elaborate booklet with lots of interesting insights and informations tells the whole story.
