For decades, Dunston's Steakhouse in Dallas has served classic steaks and other home-style Texas dishes in its relaxing and welcoming restaurant. The breaded and fried mushroom poppers and the tender calamari make delectable appetizer selections. Very enjoyable. Out of town guest asked to go to Dunston's. He had been one time previouly. Noisier than usual. Conversation difficult.

This was our first time at Dunston’s and we really enjoyed it! We really loved the salad bar and the steaks and sides did not disappoint either.

Always enjoy Dunston's but this time we were seated in the back room. Our waitress was friendly but too busy to give us the service we were used to here. Food was good, salad bar was good, but pricing is getting so much higher we may look for an alternate favorite steak house.

yummy liver and onions , brown gravy, mashed potatoes and fried okra. Was disappointed with fried okra this visit. Usually on spot, but this time was definitely overcooked. Way too brown and burned tasting. fillet properly cooked, crispy, onion rings, and salad bar were all winners.

As always, the steak was great.... and even though the salad bar was a little different, my favorites were still there. Dunston's hase never disappointed in the past and I doubt they ever will.

The food is usually really good here but last night was a total miss. Our steaks were dry. The chicken was unbeatable. Everything tasted old. Super sad really literally left a bad taste in my mouth.

First time so didn’t know what to expect. Knew it was older, iconic restaurant, but was expecting it to have that “nice” feel. My wife and I dressed nicely and went. It was a little noisy, several kids, and felt very average. Have it a chance and the food made up for it. My filet was tender and excellent! Decided it was on us we didn’t research a little better. If you want a place with great tasting food at a good price it’s a great place. We will go again, but it won’t be for a “nice” date, it will be in jeans and a golf shirt and no ambiance expectations.

My cousin from the UK was very pleased with his filet, as was I with my chicken fried steak; however, my husband thought his CFS was a bit tough. The squash casserole was quite yummy. Penny was awesome as our server!

Steaks had to go back, too rare, again. Same thing happened last visit. Service was very good, dinning room was very clean and bright. I ordered fried shrimp this time; but, it was overcooked - still tasted good.

We had recommendations from some friends we knew so we were going to give it a try. First of all it was in a great part of town with shops everywhere. I had the salad bar, which was excellent. It had everything on it you wanted and more. I had Tbone, salad bar and bake potato. I ordered my steak Medium and it was cooked excellent. I also loved my bake potato. You could tell it was cooked in the oven and not the microwave. My husband had the Filet, fries and okra. All of his food was great also. It had a great atmosphere and if I’m ever this way again, we will be eating here. The service was also excellent.
