But when she returns to San Francisco, she finds her hometown is overrun with crime and corruption, and her own parents are at the mercy of a powerful triad. Nicky relies on her tech-savvy sister, pre-med brother, ex-boyfriend and a new love interest, as well as her martial arts skills and Shaolin values, to protect her community and bring criminals to justice -- all while searching for the ruthless assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her. What to Know

      Critics Consensus

Kung Fu's early episodes could use a little more focus, but beautifully choreographed fight scenes and a likable cast -- led by the brilliant Olivia Liang's -- inspire hope for a bright future.

Max Gao New York Magazine/Vulture It wouldn't be a CW show without a classic love triangle - and Kung Fu has set up a brilliant one. Rated: 4/5 Apr 9, 2021 Full Review Robert Lloyd Los Angeles Times Based on the opening hour, and the obvious, almost arbitrary B-movie plotting of its ordinary criminal plotlines, one suspects the series will fare better the more mystical its mysteries become. Apr 9, 2021 Full Review Dan Fienberg Hollywood Reporter If a pilot is your opportunity to establish premise and put your best resources forward, Kung Fu is a mixed bag anyway. The action stuff is fine, a little on the deliberate-and-slow side, but boasting glimpses of Wuxia gravity-defying beauty. Apr 9, 2021 Full Review Travis Johnson Flicks (AU, NZ, UK) It's all breezy good fun for an action-drama, although the focus is more on drama than action. Jun 29, 2021 Full Review Tori Preston Pajiba If anything, the pilot may have suffered slightly from an overabundance of plot - but it was never boring, and it gave me plenty of reason to tune back in next week. Jun 14, 2021 Full Review Michael T. Stack TV Fanatic A slow start to a big reveal, rage shines in the back half. Rated: 4.75/5 Jun 14, 2021 Full Review Read all reviews

thiago c the worst series I've ever seen in my life, there is nothing worse I think Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 07/21/23 Full Review Catherine C I really like this show, it's the story not only of a superhero, but her family and it's such a nice family. I really enjoy watching it. Rated 4.5 out of 5 stars 04/17/23 Full Review Mac M Always having had a weak spot for kicking girls and this one is no exception. The story could have been developed bit more, but some of the twist and turns were quite nice. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 03/11/23 Full Review Ovid J Great show, good acting, fun fight scenes. Good balance of fast action scenes w slow relationship scenes. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 12/05/22 Full Review ulf b To much teenage drama for my taste. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 03/30/23 Full Review Ben B Cheaply produced series with martial arts theme. What could have been interesting is completely destroyed by the poor production quality. Script, camera work, actors, special effects are all below the level of what passes for the lowest average these days. The fight scenes are simply ridiculous when compared to the perfectly staged fight choreography from the series Warrior. No one expects that they will be surpassed but you should be able to shoot so that you do not see the massive use of ropes. Pathetic what it heutezutage everything on the air may go.
