My wife was looking for a tablet that could do it all. After buying an Andriod tablet last year which didn't do every thing that we wanted we went shopping agian this year. The size and weight are awesome and the machine is really quick with great memory. Solid State Drive is really quick but has hidden partions that eat up a 1/4 of the drive. Display is HD and very bright and responsive. Touch screen works really well too. Not so happy with Windows 8 but it did include an upgrade to Windows 8.1 which fixed some of the problems. Over all it was a good buy and does everything that a laptop and a tablet can do. When using it as a tablet it is a bit large to hold but as a laptop it is a nice size.

I have been research 2 in 1 laptops for about a year. I travel a great deal so I have been looking for a ultra portable laptop/tablet. I current have a 17.3 HP DV7 and I also travel with 10.1 ASUS tablet. The Flip is 13.3 and a perfect fit. My choices were in this order: Dell XPS12, Lenovo Yoga Pro 13, and the Sony Flip 13. Going to best buy and trying them out for a couple of hours really sent the Flip 13a straight to the top of my list. Winning factors included 1920 x 1080 IPS display, the flip screen and various positions (covering the keyboard in a real tablet motion), Bluetooth 4.0 + HS, SDXC/Memory Stick card slot that goes all the way and does not stick out, two usb 3.0 ports, Full size HDMI, light but solid construction, and over $250 worth of Sony software. Yes, the fan is a little loud, but after updating Sony firmware and software, you can go into Sony care and turn the fan down to silent. In that mode, i faintly hear it only if I am running a multitude of programs and videos at the same time. You need to remember to update Sony software first (includes firmware patches), then I created my recovery software using a 32GB USB. Choose the setting of check device before starting. The first time I didn't and it gave a warning and then stop immediately and complained about the USB device. I restarted the program and checked the box which was supposed to be slower, but it backed up and created my bootable disk in less than 13 mins. Then you can update to windows 8.1. Running with no flaws. Boot time is less than 8 seconds. Dam, you blink and it is up. I know this is expensive and I should of waited for the price to come down, but I feel this 2 in 1 laptop is the best out there. Lenovo scared me with keys exposed in tablet mode and dell just didn't have enough for me and was more expensive than the Sony.
This is a further update - After two months, this bad boy is going strong with no complaints.

I love the machine although there is some learning involved with the touch screen and windows 8. Moving from start screen to the application screen is annoying and sometimes difficult. (this is mostly windows 8 fault) not the Sony's.
When I am in an application sometimes it will kick me off and go to the start screen because of some function I did on the mouse pad. This is very annoying when your in the middle of something.
When you touch the screen the cursor kind of jumps around a little.
Last but not least Some of my programs stop responding and I thought this problem would only come from an old computer. This could also be user error, I am not the best with computers.
other then that I have no complaints. It is a very cool machine that has a awesome design.

It's lightweight & easily goes from computer to tablet (the ability to lock the screen is incredibly useful). Have had some issues with detecting/staying connected to WiFi, but it's just an annoyance. Would recommend for casual & diverse user looking for portability and convenience.

I almost fell in love with this thing at the store, but after a few days, I started to notice all the flaws.... The most irritating of all is the charger. It is VERY easy for that thing to come out, so you have to manipulate the cable in such a way that the computer sits on top of it. Anyway, the second biggest thing I noticed is that when coming back from sleep or hibernation the system becomes incapable of connecting the internet. I must either reboot the computer, or reset the wi-fi card in device manager... very annoying.
The camera resolution is absolutely horrid, so dont expect to be taking any high quality photos or video also the touch pad is sluggish, and the speaker capacity leaves much to be desired....
Lastly, there are many driver issues, but I suspect that windows 8.1 is the culprit, and may also be the root cause of all the other performance issues mentioned in this review

This computer comes with some great software! Video and Music Editing and ArtRage (create art like paintings). It also has a voice command program that can even dictate for you. You must buy the stylus being able to write and use artrage with it is awesome! They weren't selling the stylus online anymore so I called sony direct and they were able to get me one. It is worth the trouble. It is great to watch video on you flip the screen around and the screen is so much closer when the keyboard isn't in the way. This set up is also great for touch screen you don't have to worry about holding up the screen like a tablet or buying a stand you set the keyboard on your lap and flip the screen backwards and you can adjust the angle into any position. The computer has two cameras so you can do webcam and take pictures while still seeing what your taking a picture of. You can also use the bottom camera for scanning documents! I also love the backlit keyboard.

I would purchase this product again. It was pricey but should last a very long time. Easy to take anywhere with the battery lasting a very long time. I have taken this on camping trips. It's nice to have a secretary that can help me when I can't figure something out. Love the lighted keyboard so I can use it in my bunk without disturbing others.

The bad things about this laptop is infrequent crashing due to a poor network adapter driver. I've searched online and found people with similar issues with VAIO laptops such as this. Very rarely will the WiFi be on automatically in the morning, ill have to "diagnose" the problem happening in order to fix it (which usually works). Sometimes this will do no good and i will have no internet. Big minus right there.
When the internet DOES work (probably like 90% of the time) its lightweight and tablet functionality make it extremely practical to use and carry around and certainly make me proud of my purchase.
It runs all games before 2008 like a peace of cake. It does however lack one component that makes some modern games hard or impossible to run. It has 0 bytes of dedicated video RAM. FIFA runs a bit slow and big games like Skyrim wont run at all. Im not a game fanatic or anything so i don't take this too personal. Other people may not like this though.
Another thing was the painfully low hardrive space. Only about 90 of the 128 GB are free for you to use once you turn it on. I downloaded a couple movies and games and was literally at 7 GB and had to buy myself an external Hard Drive.
When i researched and bought my laptop i knew i wouldn't like some things, and that ends up true here, however the good definitely outweighs the bad and im happy i chose this laptop.
A:That is not a normal operation, it should fit the AC port securely. For troubleshooting it would be best to contact our tech support line at 1-239-245-6310 so that they could provide you with suitable options.
