Don't forget your wallet & credit card! Expect a family of 4 ( Mom, Dad, 2 kids) to spend $400.00 on your visit. Bring snacks and water to offset the gouge prices. Rides are $5 each. The cost for a family maybe once in a decade adventure. Unbelievable for a park in SALEM to overcharge kids like they do.

Enchanted Forest has been a part of our family since we moved here 45 years ago. Some of my kids have worked here as teenagers, my grandchildren love coming to visit, knowing they will be treated to a day of Enchantment.
Some of our favorite things? Definitely the log ride, the haunted house, the water show and our very favorite would be the live theater. So many good times equal happy memories. Thank you Roger Tofte. Keep up the good work.

I highly recommend this great fun park for children ages 5 through 12 years of age. We have taken our adult children when they were young as well as our 4 grandchildren individually when they were 5 to 6 years of age. The park is clean, the entertainment fun and lively. The park staff friendly and helpful.

OK I’ll admit it… I am a 59-year-old woman who still feels like a kid, so when I added this to my our itinerary while visiting Oregon, my husband was generous enough to indulge my fancy. It is such a cute little amusement park. I loved all the creative ways they brought the fairytales to life. We bought some tickets and toured the haunted house, which I’m not really a fan of haunted houses, but this one was perfect for me as it was not too scary. I took lots of photos and even ran into a grumpy dwarf….besides my husband.🙄.
We were disappointed with their limited staff and hours but I guess that is something that can’t be helped right now. The gift shop was also very disappointing with very few items.

What a cute whimsical treat! Takes you back to your childhood of fairy tales. Definitely a must see! Love the personal feel of this park. You can definitely tell the love that was put into the creations here. Loved the Cinderella show....hilarious! Just moved to Oregon and this will be a on our list to see again.

I was so excited to visit the Enchanted Forest with my family. We drove three hours just to make this one stop. I was let down. I went with my husband and three kids, ages 3 years, 1year, and 6 months old. My three year old was actually scared of some of the things there.
Negatives
-Hansel and Gretel... Hansel was locked in a cage with in a dark red room.
- The three bears were literally growling so loud my two sons had to cover their ears and be held to go through their house..
-The witch was so wicked we had to convince my oldest to run as fast as he could just to get past the darn thing!!! He was almost in tears.
- The Alice and Wonderland tunnel was ridiculous.. Don't even try going down it.
- Lastly the caves, they were nice but they were very very dark. I could hardly get through them without stumbling or tripping over myself or the "rock" walls. Much less with my kids.. I would suggest adding in some rope lights to line the borders so its not so difficult to get around.
The positives
- the water show, my kids really loved that.. I actually took video of it because it was pretty neat.
- The Western Village was cute too. My sons really enjoyed the slides and the windows.
- The ice cream was fantastic!
- It was a GREAT work out, even if I did manage to get motion sickness from walking! lol
Over all it was an okay place to go.. Maybe not for small kids, or even adolescent children who scare easily. It could use some paint and lighting. My husband really enjoyed it. I don't plan on returning.
I really think this place could be skipped.

My wife and I (we dont have children) chose to visit the Enchanted Forest because we heard it was kind of a weird amusement park that has dated oddities. That sounded right up our alley as the non-commercial aspect of it really appealed to us. As far as the negative reviews go, I'd like to clarify a few things. If you are looking for a theme park with the sugary gloss of Disneyland where everything is bright and happy, don't bother coming here. You will be disappointed. Enchanted Forest is mostly themed on tales from The Brother's Grimm. What I liked about the place, and what I think puts some people off is that the displays and exhibits capture the creepiness of those stories. Even the ones that arent a Grimm's Tale, like Little Miss Muffet, have a slightly twisted feel to them. Yes, the animatronics are dated, some of them dont work very well. Yet, for me, this adds to the charm. Pinnochio in particular was an unusual experience.
As far as being expensive goes; you must be kidding me! Admission is $9.95 for Adults, $8.95 for Kids. (In comparison; Disneyland costs $75 per adult and $68 for Kids!) The Haunted House cost $2.50!! and I think most of the rides did too (and are WELL worth it I might add) I'm not sure how people spend over $100 here, unless its a family of 6 and they go on everything 5 times (In which case you shouldve bought the all day ride bracelet). Even the food seemed very reasonable. $2.95 for a Cheeseburger, $4 for a personal Pizza. So to me, these cries of "overpriced" are absolutely ludicrous. Next, there are clean bathrooms all over the park. I certainly didnt see any port-a-potties. And, the parking lot is paved, not gravel. Also, the place next door; Thrillville is not associated with them and looks to be closed.
As I said, Enchanted Forest is not for everyone. If youre kids have been to Disneyland or are over 7 years old theyll probably think most of the displays are lame. But as an adult I found this place pretty damn cool, and most of children running around me seemed to feel the same.

If you are only looking for a Disney exerience, why go anywhere else? But, if you are a little nostalgic for a theme park experience that is simple, innocent and a bit homespun, Enchanted Forest is a wonderful place, especially for young children. It is set in a natural and relatively undisturbed forested glen (real leaves on the trees), so even the hottest day is comfortable. I have spent several vacations in Disneyland, the Magic Kingdom and Epcot and wouldn't trade them for the world, but this park has a special place in my heart as well. The "Enchanted Nightmare" review by the obviously jaded (and rude) houseguest from San Jose is way off base. Enchanted Forest is clean, the folks are friendly and the rides and exhibits are fun. Life was entertaining before Pixel Works too! This place is a blast from the past... enjoy!

We knew that the park was going to be small, that wasn't the issue. The issue we had with this park was that not only did you have to pay admission but you also had to pay for tickets to ride their attractions that weren't quite frankly worth it - at all.
I also tried playing two of their quarter operated games and BOTH were broken. The racing boats and the rifle shooting game. The boats one I actually had to go into the souvenir store and tell them to get a refund. The girl behind the counter knew why I was there, finished my sentence and gave me my $0.50 back.
The fact that their staff KNOW that things are broken yet the company refuses to fix and maintain their "attractions" yet ensure that we, the consumers PAY for BROKEN things that won't ever be fixed is really bad business.
Plus when my nephew was going on a slide, it required a felt sheet for him to ride on - many of them were filled with holes which made the whole thing feel really really cheap and tacky.
Do I recommend this place? Never in an infinite amount of years until they ACTUALLY properly fix and maintain their place of business. I recommend going to a REAL amusement park that doesn't charge you multiple times to get on their rides.

We are from out of state and took our kids there over the weekend. The pricing/ticketing is confusing and we bought too many tickets. We realized after we left the park that we had tickets left over and we could have sold the extra tickets back, but the management said it was too late. You have to sell back the same day and can't use them on another visit. Waste of money on an already overpriced park! Btw - the rides are the same ones they had there 40 years ago - probably not the safest place!

What is enchanted Forest like on a cool very rainy day? We were planning to take a five-year-old and two-year-old

You wouldnt be able to ride most of the rides in the rain, but a 2 year old is a little limited anyway. If you are local, wait for a nice day. If you have traveled to be there, you can still make rhe best of it. Carry an unbrella and enjoy the park.

I didn't see any there, would think it would only be appropriate if it was a service dog....
Can younger children ride on the larger rides if their with an adult? If not how many rides are there for 4 or 5 yr olds?

Look on line.,,,,very descriptive for each ride....some must be under 34".....some over that height....and yes with adults might make a difference....

What day of the week is most likely to have the least amount of visitors?
Susan V
Salem
First, check our schedule online to make sure we are open.
During the summer when we are open every day, normally the week days are slower than the weekends and Monday or Tuesday are a little slower than later in the week. If you need to come on a Saturday or Sunday, Sunday mornings are usually the slowest. Of course, rainy days are slower than the beautiful sunny days. If you are coming during the weekdays later in May, call to check how many school groups we have. Normally the last 2 weeks of May, during school days, afternoons are better because of all the school groups in the morning. I hope this helps!

It's haunted? Just saw an episode of ghost adventures and I wouldn't step foot in there.

I have never been in the Haunted House. We were there with our 9 and 6 year old grandchildren and believe that they are too young for it.
