What Jude Bellingham said to Real Madrid fans in Spanish speech has got everybody talking

Real Madrid fans couldn't get enough of Bellingham's speech.

Real Madrid fans are all talking about the speech Jude Bellingham gave in Spanish during the club's La Liga title celebrations.

On Sunday Real Madrid celebrated their 36th La Liga title with a parade through the streets of the Spanish capital.

Los Blancos were crowned champions last weekend when Barcelona lost 4-2 to Girona, but celebrations were put on hold so that Carlo Ancelotti's side could focus on their Champions League semi-final second leg against Bayern Munich.

Thousands of supporters joined the celebrations and gathered at the club's tradition celebration spot at Cibeles square, where they listened to their heroes give speeches.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti led a chorus of the club anthem, while club president Florentino Perez, captain Nacho Fernandez and veteran midfielder Toni Kross also addressed the crowd.

Perhaps the warmest reception was reserved for Jude Bellingham, who has enjoyed a remarkable first season at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu following his move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

The 20-year-old England star has scored 22 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 games in all competitions, and his adaptation to life in Spain has been seamless off the pitch as well.

Bellingham put his Spanish lessons to good use by giving a short speech in Spanish, much to the delight of his adoring fans who chanted his name.

"Thank you so much for your support this season," the midfielder began.

"One more great match at Wembley. Let's go to win. Hala Madrid!"

Bellingham's speech was short but sweet, and fans were left in awe by the confidence he had to speak publicly in a language he has only been learning for 10 months.

"He didn’t even stutter," one fan noted on X, while another said, "Sounds good, he did so well. I'm so proud."

A third fan commented: "That's beautiful, in less than one year."

One fan compared Bellingham's efforts to Gareth Bale's reluctance to speak Spanish publicly during his time at Madrid, saying: "Makes me wonder why Gareth Bale struggled with learning Spanish for years."

However, another supporter defended the Welshman, replying: "He could speak, [it's] just speaking in public is a different thing for an introvert like Bale. Same goes for Becks [David Beckham]…except the media didn’t jump on him."

Bellingham and his Madrid teammates will attempt to complete a double when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final on June 1 at Wembley Stadium.
