What do we do about today’s most pressing problems? Income inequality, armed conflict, healthcare, crime - nearly every pressing issue we face today will be met, for better or worse, with policy, generally from governments but also from other institutions. At its core, policy can be considered a deliberate system of guidelines to guide decisions and achieve rational outcomes. How deliberate and how rational they end up in fact being is up to the people who create them, a group to which you may one day belong - and what better place to start than with a degree in Economic or Public Policy from a German university? There is little more important than good policy for the populations of the world, and thus few more worthy endeavors than trying to improve it!
