The most savage chants by Knicks fans at MSG

Knicks-fans-min

The Knicks' fans are rutheless, and Atlanta's Trae Young is learning it the hard way.

Two games into their first-round series, the 22-year-old point guard and the Hawks' best player became New York's public enemy No.1. It started with "Fu*k Trae Young" chants with 10 minutes left in Game 1, and it hasn't stopped since. Sinking the game-winner in the series opener didn't help Trae's case. Silencing the crowd after it ended up being the final nail in his coffin.

"Fu*k Trae Young!"

Knicks fans are known to get creative when taunting opposing players. That being said, here are Top 5 most savage chants by Knicks fans at MSG, starting with one directed at Trae during yesterday's Game 2.

"Trae is balding!"

Trae just laughed it off. On his way to the locker room, after the final buzzer sounded, he turned toward the rabid fans and said, "I'll see you in the A," alluding to Friday's Game 3 taking place in Atlanta. The Hawks fans better find someone to pick on, the same way NY fans are doing to Young.

"KP Sucks!"

"I miss the city, I miss this place," said Kristaps Porzingis on his latest return to New York as a Dallas Maverick. "A lot of people here still show me love."

It turns out, none of those people were on the stands on April 2. Around 1,500 fans who did attend the game that night all hated Porzingis, and they wasted no time showing him that. It started with loud boos during intros, and it ended with "KP Sucks" chants throughout the rest of the game.

"Fire Isiah!"

Perhaps even worse than returning to NY after requesting a trade is dealing with the Knicks fans when the team is struggling. They spare no one, not even the team's head coach. Especially the team's head coach!

It started with "Fire Isiah! He's got to go! Goodbye!" in December of '07 when the Knicks were 8-17. It continued with "Fire Fisher" chants during the team's 11th straight loss in '15. And it worked both times.

"Fire Fisher!"

Isiah Thomas was fired in '08, after spending two seasons with the team -- the Knicks were 56-108 over the span. Derek Fisher lost his job in '16 after the Knicks lost its fifth straight game. He finished his NY tenure with a 40-96 record.

"Sell the team!"

But the funniest and most ruthless one happened on January 29, 2020, during the Knicks 127-106 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Late in the fourth quarter, minutes before the team would officially fall to an abysmal record of 13 wins and 36 losses, the whole MSG urged the Knicks owner James Dolan to sell the team, after it became obvious they were going to miss the postseason for a seventh straight year.

Luckily, there is finally something to be optimistic about if you are a Knicks fan. That's why chants are no longer directed at one of their guys. Finally, the biggest villain at MSG isn't someone related to the Knicks organization. The whole NBA loves to see it!

Except Trae Young. But he let's his game do the talking.
