i have lost my password and do not have a reset disk. what can i do? - Microsoft Community
If you've forgotten your Windows password and you're on a domain, you should contact your system administrator to reset your password. If you're not on a domain, you can reset your password by using a password reset disk or by using an administrator
account. For more information, see
Create a password reset disk or
Reset your Windows password.
If you forget the administrator password and don't have a password reset disk or another administrator account, you won't be able to reset the password. If there are no other user accounts on the computer, you won't be able to log on to
Windows and will need to re-install Windows.
can any body help me? I have forgotten my password to my windows 7. i did not create a password reset disk!!!! Is there anything i could do?
Hi JoanneCotton – Welcome to Microsoft Answers Community.
I suggest you download my PDF. Title: How do I Log on to my Windows 7-based computer if I forgot my password? Direct link: http://www.itknowledge24.com <unfortunately the link no longer provides useful information and has been removed>
Once you manage to reset the password and recovery that account, I suggest you make yourself a Password Reset Disk, follow these steps:
How do I: Create a password reset disk?
1. Click Start Menu and choose Control Panel.
2. Select User Accounts and Family Safety.
3. Select User Accounts.
4. From the left-side panel click Create a password reset disk.
Note: If NO USB-stick is connected an error message will appear. “No Drive: This feature requires removable media, such as a floppy disk
or USB flash drive. Please insert a floppy disk or connect a USB flash drive,
and then try again”.
5. Forgotten Password Wizard will start.
6. Click Next.
7. Choose a drive to store the password key file on.
8. Click Next.
9. Enter the current user account password and click Next.
10. The password will be stored on the disk and a progress
will be reporting the current status. ClickNext.
11. Click Finish.
12. That’s it.
Or read the original article on my website: http://www.itknowledge24.com/How_do_I_Create_a_Password_Reset_Disk_in_Windows_7.pdf <unfortunately the link no longer provides useful information and has been removed>
