Kalki 2898 AD Trailer Reveals a Digitally De-Aged Amitabh Bachchan As Ashwatthama

Kalki 2898 AD, the most expensive Indian movie ever made, has just released its new trailer, and it features a digitally de-aged version of legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan. The blink-and-you-miss-it shot was enough as fans began discussing it online, creating even more hype for this mega project.

The Telugu cinema (Tollywood) movie already boasts a powerful cast such as Kamal Hassan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan. There are a lot of expectations from the movie as well, given that it has a ₹600-crore production budget, which is the most ever spent on an Indian movie.

The hype doubled with the trailer, which featured intense music right from the start, and introduced a young boy named Raia. The trailer shows a brief glimpse of Bachchan’s character, who is perhaps on the battlefield as a warrior. Raia asked all sorts of questions to a bandaged being in what seems to be a temple, and even asked he is a God.

Bachchan's character finally reveals that he has spent years waiting for the avatar Ashwatthama, son of Drona, to return, and he must now fight his final battle. For those unfamiliar with Ashwatthama, he is part of the Indian mythology and the epic Mahabharata.

Nag Ashwin is the director of this upcoming epic movie, which is set to release worldwide on May 9, 2024. The trailer is mysterious, the cast is powerful, and hype is in the air about the trailer (and the movie’s budget) which creates a ton of excitement and expectation as to what the movie will offer.
