And it's done.

If you leave out the moms' subplot and infamous "kira-kira-hikaru" it was actually a fine shoujo romance (albeit an incomplete one, but who expected anything else). Characters showed some development, the chemistry was between the cast was there, songs themselves were juicy (and reminded me of something I used to listen myself ten years ago or so).

It's not a spectacular show, but I'd watch a second season of it despite the flaws. It was an enjoyable if bumpy ride.

That was a pretty mixed finale episode. On some parts it was the best the series has ever been, on others it has the biggest flaws yet. I'll start out by saying that the performance was great, and that the episode was overall surprisingly well-directed. I liked the transition between concert to flash forward back to the concert, and it gave a nice perspective on the final performance. However what I don't like is how the open ending was handled, and they made it really feel like little to no progression was made. That being sad, it was a very enjoyable episode, even if it wasn't a very satisfying end to the series.

Final Verdict

Fukumenkei Noise wasn't without its problems. Its drama felt overblown, the mom subplot was strange and I don't think I can hear Twinkle Twinkle Little Star anymore for the next 4 years of my life. That aside it was an enjoyable series both as a Shoujo Romance and as a music show. It didn't excel in either, but the combination worked well and both aspects of the show weren't too flawed. The characters became more likeable with every episode and there were some really nice aspects of it. Overall Fukumenkei noise gets a High 6 for me. Not a very noteworthy show overall, but still plenty of things to enjoy.

I really loved listening to Saori Hayami sing rock songs, best part of the show for me. Can anyone that knows spoilers explain what the deal is with Momo's creepy mom? I can't see myself ever reading the manga

Seconded

As expected, we got the "go buy the mango" treatment. Oh well, we say it coming miles away.

Nevertheless I enjoyed the heck out of it. Arisu being a female dense MC and Yuzu friendzoning himself all the time, along with Momo the jerk.

Probably the thing I loved them most was the music. This was a refreshing change of just generic high pitched j-pop into this bizarre japanese grunge.

This is probably one of the very few series I will actually take a look at the source. I want to see how things actually end up.

What a bleh "ending" feels like not much has changed since the start lol. She likes Momo, Momo isn't around and she doesn't look at Yuzu haha.

I wasn't a big fan of Nino but she killed it here but then not long after had me facepalming...

A below average shoujo for me but I really started liking the music near the end so that was a nice plus.

Oh boy, the "I'm letting it rip" was.. OOOOOH BOOOY that was good.

Need more of that.

Formula itself doesn't allow any drastic changes. If Nino gives up on Momo the whole triangle crumbles - it only could happen if the story has passed the middle point. I wish she would admit Yuzu somewhat, but hey, we've got a kiss at least and they spend a lot of time together.

we've got a kiss at least

Momo kissed her asleep and over the mask. Yuzu atleast got a proper kiss

I wish she would admit Yuzu somewhat, but hey, we've got a kiss at least and they spend a lot of time together.

Both kisses in this show were very unimpressive but I guess they are stuck in that dynamic so not much else they can do...

had me facepalming...

Probably doesn't read English too well.

Wasn't that logo all over the festival?

u/Atario avatar

Yeah. But there are a lot of anime logos that are in Japanese that I therefore don't recognize at all despite seeing them loads of times. -monotagari's leaps to mind.

This show pained me to watch. Everyone is super dense aside from Momo and Momo didn't even try for anything except proving himself correct whenever he could. Turns out the manga doesn't solve anything beyond this, either. Sigh

A lot of the subplots are likely explained in the manga and can't be explained here due to a lack of airtime.

Well...It actually showed full songs. Something not many "music" anime do. Granted I don't think there is such thing as a music anime. I can only think of one and other that advertise themselves as such are either a shojou like this. Slice of life or... other. I think I gave it more credit than it may have deserved as in the previous season we got that "Fuuka" shit as the "music" anime. So after seeing first few episode and thinking. "Well its better than the previous one". I've come to like this one better.

I don't think there is such thing as a music anime

I recommend you to watch Nodame Cantabile... And read the manga... AND WATCH THE LIVE ACTION.

Well... that's the end I guess. I don't think I'll read the manga, but it was a fun watch and I really liked the songs.

I don't care what anyone says, Nino is an adorable, fixated wierdo and she really gave the show flavor.

Well... That concert was fucking awesome.

And... That's it. For me this wasn't about the romance, everything fell exactly where it started, the only thing that had development was Nino's musical skills, like... She learned how to sing """"properly"""" (now she can yell in front of thousands of people!) and play the guitar at the same time in what, a few months? Less than a school year.

I hate Momo with my most inner feelings but I can't like Yuzu either. At this point my favourite character is Miou, or maybe Blonde Jotaro.

Like I said before, the songs were on spot, the seiyuu did a good work (nothing remarcable, but good enough to feel like real songs of a real band). They actually used the bad terribly bad CG properly! Those movements (especially during Yuzu's solo) felt uncanny (like from a music game... I'd play that) but cool at the same time. Then he jumps in front of Nino, they face each other while he plays a solo... That is an experience I'd like to get from a concert!

But then... Half of the episode is a grim reminder that this is indeed a Shoujo, and it was an awful one. No actual development, the main characters' backstories don't get the time they deserve... And the melodramatic moments... Ugh...

Just because of the unusual music, I'll give this one a 5. A not so good idea and a half-horrible execution.

So...I just got to say I really dug the set list. Was totally rocking the majority of the episode until the end of the concert. Had hoped some development would have happened and some changes would have occurred.

Then the time jump back happened. I hated that whole scene under the fireworks and just wanted to pop in and give those kids a stern talking to Zouroku style.

I gave it a decent score for the music alone but the subplots and main plot could have used a lot of work. Kind of what I expected from a "romance" show these days though.

I really liked this show. Even if it was a typical shoujo it was able to communicate and connect to me in a way that few anime are able to, and I really love it for that. Nino and Yuzu were both highlights and characters I could so easily relate to. The music was great and mirrored the emotions of the characters so well. All it all it was a great show and I highly enjoyed it.

I don't think i actually cared at all for the plot in this anime XD i just the fucking insane monster-berserk singing... 100% getting the OST when it comes out.

I understand the point in having a show about music where the protagonist can't sing till the last episode, but it just made this anime super annoying for me. Took all my endurance to watch till the end. If her voice was half way decent throughout the whole anime it would have been watchable at least.

Not sure why people seem to be okay with her voice, maybe they are tone deaf.

Worst show of the season for me. You can't get much worse than an anime that literally gives you a headache. 1/10

Worth a watch? Or can you compare it to some other anime like it?

u/DoctorWhoops avatar

It's alright. If a Shoujo Romance Music Anime sounds interesting to you it might be worth your time. If it doesn't sound interesting to you don't bother forcing yourself to watch it.,

Emm... that was it?

Would anyone know when all the music will be released or if it will ?

well i kept watching for the songs and berserk alice, and last episode delivered 10/10 best episode ever. I was dissapointed the were not gonna play the OP, but then they did, and when Nino started Canary was the best.

On the other hand the romance part .. well you know, some cgi cuts i think they needed to hide better, and.. they could have developed momo and yuzu backstories more, i still don't know much about them. Could be an adaptation issue.
