LIBERAL MOTTO: SPEAK LOUDLY, AND CARRY A SMALL VICTIM
Liberals always have to be the victims, particularly when they are oppressing others. Modern victims aren’t victims because of what they have suffered; they are victims of convenience for the Left. There’s no way to determine if an action is offensive by looking at the action. One must know who did it to whom, and whose side the most powerful people in America will take. Republican senator Trent Lott committed a hate crime when he praised former segregationist Strom Thurmond at a birthday party, but a year later, Democratic senator Chris Dodd did nothing wrong when he praised a former Ku Klux Klanner, Senator Robert Byrd—who was also a sort of “community organizer.”
Playing the game of He Who Is Offended First Wins, the key to any political argument is to pretend to be insulted and register operatic anger. Liberals are the masters of finger-wagging indignation. They will wail about some perceived slight to a sacred feeling of theirs, frightening people who have never before witnessed the liberals’ capacity to invoke synthetic outrage. Distracted by the crocodile tears of the liberal, Americans don’t notice that these fake victims are attacking, advancing, and creating genuine victims.
Just as we’re always told that schoolyard bullies are actually deeply insecure, liberals rationalize their own ferocious behavior by claiming to have been wounded somehow. What about the little guy our poor, insecure bully is beating the living daylights out of? How’s his self-esteem coming along? That is the essence of liberals: They viciously attack everyone else, while wailing that they are the victims.
Liberals’ infernal habit of accusing others of what they themselves are doing distracts attention from who is really being attacked. No one is victimized by a mouse: Real victims are those who are called the oppressors by the powerful. Just as Nazi mythology made ordinary working Germans believe they were victims of Jewish oppressors—in order to oppress the Jews—today’s media-certified victims are the true oppressors, and the alleged aggressors are the real victims. To find the authentic victims in most situations, one can simply refer to the people the mainstream media urge us to hate, beasts such as George Bush, the Duke lacrosse players, Joe McCarthy, Jesse Helms, Tom DeLay, the Swift Boat Veterans, and Sarah Palin. But often the victims are nameless, faceless victims of repellent liberal policies that are promoted on behalf of counterfeit victims, such as single mothers or “the poor.” Media-anointed victims inevitably create actual victims who became so the old-fashioned way: They earned it.
Fake victims have become so crucial to liberal argument that you need a pathos-meter to follow politics in modern America. Every policy proposal is launched or opposed on the stories of victims. When Senator Hillary Clinton sought more federal money for New York City in 2007, she made a big show of attending Bush’s January 2007 State of the Union Address with the son of a New York City police officer, Cesar A. Borja, who had died that very day of a rare lung disease he had allegedly acquired from working “16-hour shifts” at the World Trade Center after the 9/11 attacks.
The New York Daily News had told the tear-jerking story of Cesar Borja a few weeks earlier in an article claiming that “when the twin towers fell,” Borja “rushed to ground zero and started working long days there.” Now he was dying of a rare lung disease, a result, the Daily News suggested, of his having “volunteered to work months of 16-hour shifts in the rubble, breathing in clouds of toxic dust.”1
Senator Hillary Clinton seized on the 9/11 victim’s story, parading Officer Borja’s twenty-one-year-old son at the State of the Union Address. She even sent President Bush a letter—made available to the press—inviting him to meet Officer Borja’s son, at the same time requesting more federal funding for New York’s emergency workers. The federal money allocated thus far, she said, was “only a down payment in repaying our debt to those who came to assist us in our hour of need.” She asked the president to “honor” Officer Borja’s memory and those who had “lost loved ones as a result of the 9/11 attacks.”2
Bush met with Officer Borja’s son and agreed to the additional federal funding for those suffering nonspecific health problems related to the 9/11 attack. Senator Clinton then released another letter noting “our responsibility to take care of those who took care of us”—those who, she said, “selflessly risked their lives and their health at Ground Zero.”3
Then it turned out the story of Officer Borja’s glorious heroism on 9/11 was a complete hoax. Borja had not “rushed” to the disaster site after the attack. He only started working there, directing traffic, near the end of December 2001, by which time much of the rubble had been cleared away. He was not a volunteer—this was his job. Indeed, the only reason he was working sixteen-hour days was to boost his pension just before he retired. In all, Borja had worked seventeen days at the World Trade Center, most of them in 2002.4 Borja retired in June 2003 and did not begin to develop pulmonary fibrosis until 2005. There were other possible explanations for his rare lung disease, such as his pack-a-day cigarette habit until five or six years before the 9/11 attack.5 Officer Borja had done nothing dishonorable, but he had not selflessly risked his life at Ground Zero, as Hillary Clinton claimed in order to beg for more taxpayer money for New York City.
Asked about its make-believe reporting on Borja’s undaunted heroism, the Daily News observed that “the paper had never explicitly said Officer Borja had rushed there soon after Sept. 11, only that at some point he had rushed there.”6 No matter—he had served his purpose and New York City got its federal funding.
All the Left’s seminal imagery keeps turning out to be a hoax.
daddy was diving repeatedly into ground zero—when he was nowhere near the place. The New Republic’s “Baghdad Diarist” told sickening tales about the brutish behavior of American troops in Iraq—and then he signed an affidavit admitting he made it all up. John Edwards was the loyal husband to his cancer-stricken wife—except it turned out he was carrying on an extended affair with Rielle Hunter.
The Democrats dredge up victim after victim, but it’s hard to find one real story. Why do liberals keep coming up with hoaxes for our edification? Time and again, liberals transform themselves into chaste Victorian virgins fainting over the suffering of their victim du jour—but then the facts come out, and liberals react like Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live: “Never mind.”
You know you’ve really made it in America when the Left weeps for you. But this much-sought-after victim status is evanescent, lasting only as long as the fake victim’s bellyaching advances the liberal agenda. Poor, long-suffering Valerie Plame, Joe Wilson, Scott Ritter, Cindy Sheehan, the Jersey Girls, Scott McClellan—all putative victims of the Republicans—weep alone these days. The liberal establishment has moved on.
It’s so popular to be a victim in modern American society that people are constantly faking their own hard-luck stories—and not just in the “personal statement” essay in their Harvard applications. Among the recent hoax memoirs was one in 2008 by “Margaret B. Jones” called Love and Consequences: A Memoir of Hope and Survival. Jones claimed to be a half-white, half–Native American girl who grew up in a foster home in South Central Los Angeles, raised by an African American mother. She said she ran drugs for the Bloods in the middle of the deadly crack wars of the 1980s, losing her foster brother to the gang wars. Jones gave interviews using an urban black patois, referring to her fellow gang members as her “homies.” In her book she passed on urban wisdom, such as “Trust no one. Even your own momma will sell you out for the right price or if she gets scared enough.”
But then it turned out Margaret Jones was really Peggy Seltzer, a suburban Valley Girl, who grew up with her biological family in affluent Sherman Oaks, California, where she attended a private day school. The closest she had come to the projects was watching Project Runway on Bravo. Her hoax was exposed when her sister, Cyndi Hoffman, called the publisher after seeing Seltzer’s photo by a book review in the New York Times—which praised the book as a “humane and deeply affecting memoir.”
Even when caught red-handed, Seltzer claimed to be serving a greater good: “I thought it was my opportunity to put a voice to people who people don’t listen to.” She said others had told her “you should speak for us because nobody else is going to let us in to talk.” Admitting it was “an ego thing,” she explained, “I don’t know. I just felt that there was good that I could do and there was no other way that someone would listen to it.”7
Also in 2008, a Holocaust memoir published in 1997 was exposed as a hoax. In the book, Misha: A Mémoire of the Holocaust Years, Misha Defonseca described her parents being arrested and deported by the Nazis when she was six years old. She wrote that she went to live with the De Wael family, who gave her the name “Monique,” but she so missed her parents that she embarked on a trans-European trek to find them. Wandering alone throughout Europe, she said she killed a German soldier, was sheltered by a pack of wolves, and saw a train full of Jews headed for t...

About the author
Ann Hart Coulter (/ˈkoʊltər/; born December 8, 1961) is an American conservative social and political commentator, writer, syndicated columnist, and lawyer. She frequently appears on television, radio, and as a speaker at public and private events.
Coulter rose to prominence in the 1990s as an outspoken critic of the Clinton administration. Her first book concerned the Bill Clinton impeachment, and sprang from her experience writing legal briefs for Paula Jones's attorneys, as well as columns she wrote about the cases. Coulter has described herself as a polemicist who likes to ""stir up the pot"", and does not ""pretend to be impartial or balanced, as broadcasters do"", drawing criticism from the left, and sometimes from the right.
Coulter's syndicated column for Universal Press Syndicate began appearing in newspapers, and was featured on major conservative websites.

It took more time than usual to read this book as it spoke to the exact way I feel and so many others feel about what is happening to our great nation. To see it so eloquently, honestly and correctly stated would raise the frustration level to a point of having to take time to calm down then continue.
I differ with many evaluations of what is happening to America and as a life-long student of American history, our founding philosophies, documents and ideals I find there is something much more basic tearing this country apart.
It is not, as many say, becoming a third world country...it is becoming bad!
And we all know what Alexis De Tocqueville said about America if it ever stopped being good. And to those ridiculous guardians of the so called progressive movement (another word for achieving equality of all...in the lowest level of degeneracy) who participate in the pulling of America into the gutter...who say it is our foreign involvement that he was talking about...bunk! You have no clue...read his book...it was about allowing the better angels of our natures to shine forth.
It was about morality, the individual quest for righteousness, family, individual responsibility, the ability to succeed and fail, small government, strong local control, in other words, the soul and character of the American people is what he was talking about when he said; "America is great...because America is Good!"
I have read with great interest all of Ann Coulter's books and Ann speaks basic truths and for at least half of the Average Americans out here in the real world - not those fake, callous, degenerate hot spots of anti-American Theo-phobic hate mongering, race baiting, gender destroying socialist in Hollywood, Washington DC, the Judiciary and most of the universities of this once great country.
I am very pleased that all the publishing houses have not decided to go the way most of the other communication outlets in America have gone...who refuses to print the truth, tell the truth or even let the people see the truth that people like Ann Coulter provides for us.
Can you believe the latest "SS" like attack on our freedoms...when a mall refused to let a man conduct his business and forced him out simply because one person, an Obama - nation supporter said his wares offended her? The mall owners are Obama-nation supporters. If that is not tyranny then nothing is! It was fine when he had comical Bush or Reagan stickers but Obama stickers are outlawed in America now! This is simply sad, ridiculous and tyrannical.
If that is what this new socialist president and his brown shirt supports (they act similar to any who disagree) bring to our nation then Hilmar von Campe was right in his book "Defeating the Totalitarian Lie"...that we are on the road to proving that we cannot learn from history and that we are destined to repeat it...only not in Europe... but here...here in our beloved Nation.
If this type of ridiculous censorship, harassment and ridicule is going to become the norm...and mind you...this is not the only example of fanatic liberalism's supporters punishing those of opposite views. Then America is moving as Von Campe says down a path of becoming the 21st century version of Nazi Germany and A.C.O.R.N. may be preparing our "Arm Bands" as we watch this unfold.
This encroaching despotism and tyranny under the disguise of not offending (but only offending the liberally minded) reminds me of a great old movie I watched in my youth, perhaps why I do not support the Obama /Pelosi/Clintonista liberalism moving across this nation like an infectious disease (like in the movie "Outbreak"- with Dustin Hoffman) which leads to race baiting, character assassination, hedonism, censorship and hypocrisy on a scale never before seen.
In that old movie...very relevant to today's politics called "Judgment at Nuremberg" Burt Lancaster played a German High Judge (Dr. Ernst Janning) on trial for supporting Hitler's political takeover of just about every aspect of their society with his policies and tyranny. As a member of the highest court in the land, the guardian of the people's liberty, rights and the country's soul...HE justified the atrocities by the Nazi political machine, which he legally allowed (just like O'Connor did in her term in office, Ginsburg, Stevens, Souter, Kennedy, & Breyer are allowing still - and that "Sotomayor" will most assuredly allow) by saying it was "what was best for a struggling economy, a poor downtrodden and confused people, and a war weary nation". The power hungry monsters were allowed to make this awful power grab and lead the country into ruin by the very people charged with protecting them from the madness of politicians, "fearless leaders", fake messiahs or purely partisan power hungry aristocrats.
That is what is happening with America under Obama, Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy, Rangel, Pelosi, Reed, Schumer, Dodd and Frank and let us not forget Chris Matthews who sees it as his duty to make this president succeed (what an embarrassment to himself and his posterity).
We are moving ever closer to a repeat of the darkest days in world history.
The rest of the so called conservatives, who are now only jealous of Ann Coulter and her bold stances, having given up their self-respect and principles, while Ann Coulter and a few others have not...do little more now than poorly judge her comments, truths, books and reputation and argue with these Icons of truth, wisdom and honor and are like dead weights around the feet of true conservatives.
They are in the same league with Jim Jeffords (traitor extraordinaire), Arlen Specter (total coward and turn-coat...Benedict Arnold had more honor remaining in him...than this guy).
John McCain was not our candidate...he was the candidate the press wanted us to field and we sheepishly went along. Collin Powel is not our candidate; Fred Thompson was never our candidate nor was any other wimpy press endorsed compromising moderate who pretends to stand for conservatism. Their type of conservatism is submission, defeatist and traitorous. Good lord Ron Paul predicted exactly what happened and the press totally ignores him today because he could make them look like the fools they are.
But Ron Paul was not our candidate either. All but Ron Paul, Sarah Palin and Mike Huckabee were all compromising fools just like Dr. Ernst Janning. The others were giving the liberals just what they wanted, a party that eats it's wounded (like the monsters in the movie "Lost in Space") and abandons their members, ideologies and principles because they are ill prepared to stand their ground against the biased media onslaught and the Neo-liberal Pit Bull hacks like Keith Doberman (intended), Chris the slobbering Matthews and overpaid hit women like Katie Couric. These "soft-conservatives" betray their party, their fellow party members and principles at the first false accusation, or hard left question that gets thrown up.
Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Roy Moore, David Barton, Sarah Palin, Allan Keyes and a few select others do not compromise on the important issues...and for that she and they are harassed, belittled and berated by those who should be supporting them on the right and ridiculously attacked by those she and they are better than...on the left.
These "sue do"-conservatives have compromised their principles to the point that they have become nothing more than a "Hillary Light" version of what they once proudly professed, believed in, stood up for and attempted to maintain, defend and instill into American politics, the public square, education and the judiciary.
I have many times thought of submitting a book entitled "The Defeated Conservative...How Republicans Lost Themselves in Compromise". However it seems that this handful of brave conservatives I have mentioned are addressing the issue quite well.
Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh, Roy Moore, Sarah Palin and certainly Mark Levin are up there in that unique category of begin able to, feel the pulse and greatness of the grass roots average American conservatism, that still exist in the majority of our citizens.
I say majority because...if we had a candidate and running mate that truly represented us...we would have won the White House, the Senate and the House and could have fixed the Supreme Court if we wanted to. Obama won because of the simple fact that many conservatives stayed home rather than have a choice between a socialist democrat and a "Hillary Light" democrat masquerading as a republican. Conservatives anxiously wait for someone to (truly and sincerely) stand up and champion those values.
Another compromising and appeasing...after getting elected...George Bush will not fill the bill. They thought it was Bush...we all did from his rhetoric...but he failed...because once he got in...all he wanted to do was appease, appease, appease, kiss a Kennedy's "hind end" and compromise until his support among "WE The People" was gone.
His first real test was Trent Lott and he failed miserably by not supporting and defending him at every press conference and tell them to "get real" and shut up. He also failed by bringing Zell Miller into his cabinet for standing by him and to put a stake in that dracula Chris Matthews for his abusive interview of Zell.
Ann Coulter has in this book told the truth, a concept totally foreign to the liberals who hate her for being brave enough to speak it and strong enough to not care who likes or dislikes her. She cares nothing for the compromising fools who make up the majority of the republican (used to be conservative) leadership these days. Even Mr. Steele, the new RNC chairman failed in his first major outing by getting baited into attacking and deriding Rush Limbaugh (the staunchest foundation of true conservatism on the radio) when he should have attack the commentator for attacking one of his own! Democrats attack, attack and attack and Republican leaders' today wince, apologize, defend and retreat and try to be more liberal or moderate. Disgusting!
It is so sickening to watch Ann get interviewed by almost any commentator or talking head on TV these days, as they have sold their soles to become blatant supporters of the "VAST LEFT WING HYPOCRISY" and the Jim Jones type infatuation with Barrack Hussein Obama.
The reason, it is so pitiful, to watch Rivera, Matthews, Wallace, Couric, Walters or any of the other, now committed partisan minions of the honor less unprofessional "so called" main stream media outlets...is that their only goal is to try to counter, attack or dispute Ann's undisputable facts.
Unlike Dan Rather who sold his soul to the liberal cause and to win an election for "his guy"...Ann Coulter actually researches her facts.
They all try to trip her up, make fun of her or dismiss her but they cannot. Not to anyone who has enough gray matter upstairs to hear and see the truth when it presents itself. She is so far above them in intellectual prowess, constitutional knowledge and honesty that they find it hard to further their openly biased partisan beliefs, attitudes and contempt for the underlying and real American values that still exist in the homes of grass roots America...and in her books. They instead end up moving to other subjects, other guest or going to break to disrupt the completely logical point being made by Ann.
They hate it that Ann methodically moves forward and fights the good fight through her written word. And the only reason she does not get interviews like the plethora of storm troopers from the left do...is that these failures in the media pretending to be independent...have betrayed and surrendered their professionalism and principles and ideals to the point that they merely mimic the party line on every issue.
This is another great book as only the Coulter mind can produce. Thanks for giving us a truthful look at the world around us and the treasonous, slanderous, godless, guilty nature of excessive liberalism.
I can't wait to see Ann Coulter take on the "Professor Gates"/ "Officer Crowley" incident in one of her future books. If it had been a Black Police Officer in exactly the same situation, arresting a White Professor who did exactly what Gates did...then every single democrat and every single Black Dr. of whatever subject...and every black talking head or self appointed civil rights defending guest on any station anywhere in America would have been saying "The officer was completely justified in making a disorderly conduct arrest because continuing to shout and verbally abusing an Officer of the law...called to the scene on a possible burglary 911 call...would have been correct, appropriate and acceptable."
Go get them Ann!
I almost hate to give this book 5 stars so that I won't be lumped into the Ann Coulter fan club. Using any objective or subjective criteria, the only conclusion I can share after reading this book is that Coulter is one smart lawyer, an excellent writer, she probably won all the playground taunting wars, and the universe is so unfair to put all these brains and courage into someone who looks this attractive.
As I see occasional glimpses of Coulter going into the Lion's dens of harpys and watch her classiness in juxtaposition to the cattiness, vacuousness and insulting bigotry of the inhabitants of the main-stream media, I am saddened that there is no Republican politician willing to oppose the evil that permeates our country's airwaves. Coulter's book is 7 chapters on liberal hypocrisy, the tragedy of mothers who deprive their children of fathers, and the lies and techniques used by amoral liberals in every institution from the media to politics.
Coulter has documented enough liberal idiocies to make Barney Frank lose his lisp and Ted Kennedy consider swimming lessons before driving drunk across a bridge. (I know, I know, that was just plain mean.)
I think that chapter 2 documenting the damage that immorality, welfare, legal precedent and the glorification of mothers ignoring the needs of their children by having no fathers in their lives is one of the most important political documents of our age. Coulter documents this over and over leaving no doubt that she is right. Not too long ago, even the democrats acknowledged this, before you start insulting Ms. Coulter. Look up liberal democrat Senator from New York Daniel Patrick Moynihan's ground breaking analysis on this very issue nearly 50 years ago. Isn't it a sad commentary on our failing society that this obvious truth is not only the most offensive thing to the average liberal, but is so unpopular that not a single so-called republican politician has the guts to say the same thing and support Ms. Coulter. There is no greater damage that can be done to a child than raising them without a father. If we truly cared about children and the future of society, rather than our political biases and beliefs, we would utterly reject the political and cultural structure that we have built in this once great nation. Read this chapter if you read nothing else and then go home and hug your spouse and children.
Coulter's writing just gets better and better. Take this zinger, "Democrat's maddening inability to understand that you have to pay taxes in order to get a tax cut." I dare you to try and summarize such a statement in words as eloquent and pointed as this. And without Ann Coulter, who out there would be reminding us of the sub-normal IQ of liberal journalists who come up with statements like "this low unemployment rate is not entirely good news. Fewer people are looking for work." This book has hundreds of these kinds of examples.
This book is more focused than some of Coulter's previous books that covered disparate subjects from McCarthy to evolution. It is slower reading than past books since it is much more factual and has less of the entertaining venting of past books.
Bravo, Ms. Coulter and the rest of the so-called conservatives should hang their heads in shame that they don't even have 1% of the courage of Ms. Coulter to take on the hard but important issues of the day. Five well-deserved stars.

It makes you see how it is always easier for the Democrats to win elections as they are not alone in attacking their adversaries, because the news media do a good deal of work in their behalf.
Last but not least, ann Coulter style is fun to read so you get informed while having a good time too.
