New Delhi: Ashish Nehra has been in news for some time now. First it was his surprise inclusion in the latest T20I squad and then there were rumours about his 'imminent retirement' that were doing the rounds.

Sources on Wednesday had confirmed that the left arm pacer will retire from international cricket on November 1.

BCCI on Thursday posted a video on their Twitter handle of Ashish Nehra's press conference where he officially announced that he is all set to retire on November 1 when India plays against New Zealand in the first T20I at Delhi's Feroz Shah Kotla.

The Delhi pacer said that his aim has always been to play for India and since he is retiring from the national team he is not interested in playing IPL either.

The 38-year-old pacer described his relationship with Feroz Shah Kotla and said, “You can't get it better than that when you retire in front of your home crowd...”

Nehra also mentioned that retiring is moving forward and it is the right time to pass the baton.

Nehra was part of the Indian squad which won the 2011 Cricket World Cup at home and was also a member of the Indian squad that finished runners-up to Australia in the 2003 World Cup.

His best figures in ODI came in 2003 World Cup against England when he took 6/23.

Nehra is currently part of three-match T20I series against Australia but he didn't feature in the first two matches. He has so far played 17 Tests (44 wickets), 120 One-Day Internationals (157 wickets) and 26 T20Is (34 wickets) for the country.
