Senior: My experience at Bishop Hartley has been close to the best! While there have been the occasional difficult assignments and over-loaded work, I have grown as a student and more importantly as a student. Bishop Hartley ensures that the entire person is formed throughout their high school journey. Formation in morals, faith life, academics, and culture, I feel prepared to conquer the world and confident with the skills I have gained through the school. Bishop Hartley's commitment to honoring legacy, defending traditions, and creating the leaders of tomorrow has been one of my favorite parts of being a student. Seeing the success of alumni and the fruits they are bearing in their lives as a result of receiving an education from the same school I attend is truly inspiring. Senior: I have had a great experience at St. Francis DeSales High School. I am incredibly grateful to attend an academic institution where Christ is at the center of our school’s mission. The athletic programs are skilled and diligent, the teachers genuinely care about their students, and administration is open to hearing about ways the environment can be improved, and the majority of the students are loving and well-behaved. I am so thankful for the DeSales community and the ways I have been blessed to grow over the past four years. I find myself too often taking this school for granted, but it is setting me up for success in all areas of life. The memories and friends I have made here will last a lifetime. Alum: I am aware of no program that goes so far to promote actual thought among its students by means of its curriculum, philosophy, and faith as the one at St Charles. Though we finished our time there in 1985, I remain in touch with several of my classmates. Senior: The best parts about being at Cristo Rey was having a sense of confidence with being able to reach out to people and have resources to help me through all my stress whenever I needed help with homework or college applications. The worst parts were just feeling stuck at times if this school was a fit for me or do I fit in the school in the sense of not feeling academically fitting into what Cristo Rey is looking for but later on, the school did overall help me realize that I do belong here as a student and that I can get through any stress with all the support that the teacher provides. Along with support, what I want to change is that the teachers/admin advocates for the students a little bit more and listens to their requests because I feel like that's what made a lot of students leave or not feel like this school is for them because of the lack of listening to the students there are so I hope in the future, admin and the teachers take the students into better and clear consideration.... Senior: The academic side of Watterson is very challenging. We have many papers and presentations in our English classes. We also have exams that are 20% of our overall grade for the year. Along with this, everyday we have to wear uniforms. The uniforms are very helpful for not having to pick out clothes to wear every single morning. Everyone has the same outfit and no one also gets jealous or put down by what others have to wear. Some negatives are having more rules to follow. We are not allowed to have our phones out. There is a twenty dollar fine if you have your phone out. Along with this, we cannot chew gum, or it is a ten dollar fine. Also we cannot carry our backpack around. We have to only carry the books we need for that class period. Which can be very inconvenient if you just want to carry all your books in your backpack to have with you at all times. We also have to eat lunch in twenty minutes in our cafeteria. We are not allowed to eat at other places for lunch near campus.... Read 141 reviews
