In Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two, the DC heroes from various realities are up against their toughest threat ever. They are struggling to keep their unique scientific towers powered up and active. They know that various anti-matter waves can pop up at any time and devour different worlds. This heaps mental pressure on them at the worst possible time.

It's quite exhausting, leaving Batman, Mr. Terrific, Dr. Light (Kimiyo Hoshi) and all the other DC geniuses short of ideas. No matter what they do, it's all placeholder. They have no idea how to eradicate the waves. This leads to yet another harrowing finale where the real culprit comes to light, as thirsty for blood and control as ever.

JL: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two Gets First Clip, Release Date From Jensen Ackles
Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths star Jensen Ackles shares a clip from Part Two and reveals when the animated film is coming to Digital.

The anchor of Crisis Part Two is Charles Halstead, aka the Psycho Pirate. The movie ties into previous Tomorrowverse movies, namely Justice Society: World War II where it was revealed Charles was a telepath working with the Nazis and brainwashing Aquaman's army for himself. The movie also confirms he also powers from Dr. Fate, allowing him to jump between realities. It makes Psycho Pirate an even bigger player than first assumed. The Monitor recruited him to use his powers to seed out calm across all realities.

However, Charles has become a pawn for the real villain of the story: the Anti-Monitor. This being believes in chaos and order, promising Charles even more power. Charles accepts being the Anti-Monitor's avatar and the oblivion that unfolds. He proceeds to amplify his signal and spread anger out across the cosmos. Various pockets of the DC Multiverse begin fighting each other once this occurs. Wonder Woman (from Earth-2), for example, is a major victim after ending up on a planet where the Themyscirans have taken over and enslaved men.

Wonder Woman butts heads with this alternate version of her mother, Queen Hippolyta, though things go from bad to worse when the Anti-Monitor's shadow demons invade, sticking to the Crisis lore. Unfortunately, the Green Lantern of Earth-1, John Stewart, dukes it out near the main tower with an amnesiac, John Constantine, while Batman and the Bat-family on Earth-2 begin fighting with each other. Psycho Pirate feeds off the discord, enjoying what his lord has offered him. These heroes have no clue they are being tricked into disarray, as the monsters can now attack.

In time, the egotistical Charles ends up telling the Monitor the true plan: for the Anti-Monitor to make the towers defenseless and then, consume the entire Multiverse. It leaves the all-seeing Monitor stunned, because he didn't calculate any of this. He now knows why the waves were sentient, and that the shadow monsters are part of a bigger hive mind. Sadly, with the heroes divided, not even the Monitor has a solution for his counterpoint as Charles teleports away.

Can Crisis on Infinite Earths Help Supergirl Atone for a Tomorrowverse Mistake?
The trailer for Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two teases a redemption song for Supergirl as she embraces her new role.

As part of his corrupt ways, Charles found time to worm into Supergirl's mind. He uses his Psycho Pirate abilities, feasting on her rage about how she was found by the Anti-Monitor when Krypton blew up. The Monitor raised her before she rebelled and went off to her Earth to become Superman's cousin. Now, Kara is enraged over having been pulled back into this war, thinking she never had a choice, identity or agency in the first place.

Granted, most of this anger is due to Psycho Pirate messing with her emotions. He can tell Kara has been suffering immense agony after the Legion of Super Heroes' timeline was destroyed in the first film. Losing her beloved Brainiac-5 has hit Kara hard, whether it's as Supergirl, or as the Harbinger powered up by the Monitor. Charles even insinuates the Monitor blew Krypton up, to take Kara away from Zor-El and her kin. It's all lies, but it is a clever way of manipulating a vulnerable, susceptible Kara.

Supergirl buys into all the lies planted by the selfish Psycho Pirate. She no longer sees the benevolent Mar Novu who raised her -- she sees a calculating scientist. She eventually confronts the Monitor, who is fresh off a conversation about the damage done to reality with the Spectre. The Monitor laments what has happened, only to get fried by Kara's heat vision and killed. However, as Kara comes to her senses, one has to take note how he lowered his shield. He also hinted there may be one way forward, which requires him to die at this very moment.

It nods a lot to Doctor Strange and Iron Man's game of probabilities in the Avengers: Endgame time dilemma against Thanos. Supergirl cradles her father figure, homaging how Superman did this to her when she died in the Crisis source material. Kara isn't altruistic like Kal-El, however; she thinks she is a hypocrite and a monster for eliminating the person who was trying to protect them all from this unforeseen overlord.

Crisis on Infinite Earths Part Two Teases a Troubling Batfamily Relationship
Tomorrowverse's Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earth Part Two will pit Batman against a Batman family member, inverting their usual bond.

Crisis Part Two builds to a very bleak finale that lacks hope and optimism. As they feud, Green Lantern and Constantine realize they're not enemies. Constantine powers up again, while Green Lantern uses his ring and battery to create a light bomb. It blows up some of the demons, but renders John powerless. Notably, the demons from the other worlds pull away and assemble at the Earth-1 tower. Batman asks for all the heroes to be teleported there, as it's the main hub.

Shockingly, Wonder Woman and the Themysciran planet are eaten by a wave that's faster and a lot more intense. This weakened coalition is petrified as the retreating demons form a giant golem. It turns from shadow to armor, which DC fans would recognize as the early form of the Anti-Monitor. The heroes used light to burn away the shadows in many brawls, but this time, Superman's lasers, Dr. Light's blasts, Captain Atom's beams, etc. don't penetrate the shelled-up godlike figure.

The movie ends with the titan forming a giant ball, ready to drop it on the heroes. It is an anti-matter bomb meant to disintegrate the alliance. It's quite similar to how Crisis Part One ended. Some heroes were devoured by a wave, while others survived as their towers activated in the nick of time. In this case, no towers can save the heroes. There isn't even a Monitor around to attempt a maneuver. They are at the mercy of the Anti-Monitor, foreshadowing more death and destruction to come.

Ultimately, this finale lives up to the desperate vibe of the original comic. The Anti-Monitor has played Charles and Kara like puppets on a string. He masterfully engineered the demise of his counterpart, while engineering a scheme that will allow him to kill the alliance and destroy the towers. In short, his plan is a long term one that will allow his waves to assimilate other worlds once the heroes are gone. In the process, the Tomorrowverse has conjured up a terrifying, near-perfect villain who has all bases covered as he prepares to demolish the entire animated DC Multiverse.

Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths - Part Two is now available on Digital, 4K UHD and Blu-ray. The release date for Part Three is yet to be announced.
