Following in the footsteps of his Hollywood based father Sir Cedric, Hardwicke is best known for playing Dr. Watson opposite Jeremy Brett in Granada’s Sherlock Holmes (1985-1993). He also worked extensively on stage, starred in the series Colditz (1972-73) and in movies such as Shadowlands (1993) and Richard III (1995).
