What is The Librarians About?
The Librarians franchise started off as a series of made-for-TV movies headlined by ER vet Noah Wyle. He played titular librarian Flynn Carsen in 2004’s Quest for the Spear, 2006’s Return to King Solomon’s Mines and 2008’s Curse of the Judas Chalice, and later recurred on The Librarians, which aired for four seasons between 2014 and 2018.
The series starred Rebecca Romijn (as Eve Baird), Christian Kane (as Jacob Stone), Lindy Booth (as Cassandra Killian), John Kim (as Ezekiel Jones) and John Larroquette (as Jenkins).
The Librarians: The Next Chapter will serve as a follow-up to the TNT series and be set in the same universe.
Wow – I somehow missed the earlier news that CW ordered this sequel, and I’m shocked they are adding a show I will want to watch! I loved the movies and TNT series and hope the new series is as successful. Key to that will be who is cast at the out-of-his-time Librarian. Looking forward to this!
I saw this and got really excited, but it’s just another reboot. That’s a shame.
Surprise for me too, I’m veryyyy excited!!
no Flynn? but he is the reason why I love “The Librarian” franchise so much… oh well ~ I guess we’ll see..
Who says. Noah works with Devlin on Leverage. And christian works with him on 2 shows so my money is on one of those two.
Yes they both work on leverage redemption Christian Kane as Eliot Spencer and Noah wyhl as harry Wilson and they support to be doing leverage redemption 3 also
I like the librarians, and the Characters.
Bring back Christian Kane! Nobody else is needed!
If we’re only bring back one from the TNT revival, I’d go with John Harlan Kim’s Ezekiel Jones. Genius, photographic memory, and a tech wiz. Yeah, Jacob had magic, but Ezekiel had a buck-the-system outlook that worked for me. But that’s just me. :)
I’ll take either one of them!
Also I’d like to see Anand Desai-Barochia from The Outpost as a Librarian!!! That would be great!
Dean DEVLIN knows what fans want and I agree with other comments here- Anand from the outpost should be the librarian.
I watched the librarian series. I am not sure how I feel about another series about more librarians but I liked the outpost series.
Turning into Highlander. There can be only one, until there were a few more and then a few more. Lol
I like Noah. BUT, With Christian on board, I’m Thrilled!!
I can hardly wait.
I have all the movies, the DVD series and now will watch this.
Yippee!!
I’m wondering what that means for the possibility of another season of Almost Paradise. It’s not listed as cancelled, but I’ve seen nothing about it being renewed, either.
Yeah. Freevee closing down plus this doesnt bode well
With Leverage moving to Prime and Prime now having ads, we should not count out that Almost Paradise might not be renewed.
Technically Amazon is still denying that Freevee is shutting down.
I’m gonna have to watch now! He’s the only one I’d watch this new version for.
I guess I will be watching something on the CW after all. Adding Christian Kane in a recurring capacity will definitely benefit them in the long run. It appeases the old fanbase, but also draws in new audiences with the new cast (especially if it has the same quality as the original series/movies).
2 words- Awesome- Awesome
I love Christian! He can do anything.
Like to see more of Almost Paradise. I love his humor in it
Here’s an idea. Get Arnold Schwarzenegger to take the character he played i in an early sword-and-sandal movie (you should know the one, right?) with this reboot so he can add some muscle to the plot. The name of the new show? How about “Conan the Librarian?”
How does Bob Newhart not get mentioned in this article.
I am not looking for anymore Librarians series. I will not be watching.
Surprised some scripted content shows can still find life in the new dry and unscripted-cheap slate of broadcast TV that Nexstar has turned The CW into. Hopefully this performs well and might actually show these dumb execs that if you are gonna run a broadcast network TV, you need actual shows with plot and characters and not import things or realities. And obviously to know your audience.
The original should never have been cancelled in the first place, but TNT was adamant about purging all its popular “comfort” shows and replacing them with edgy fare–most of which were DOA.
Hopefully they can bring back Lindy Booth as well. She was really the MVP of the series and unlike most of the others isn’t currently on another series.
Now I can be excited again! Thank you for not just doing another lazy reboot. Now, about getting Noah Wylie back as well….
Since when does a Librarian train a Guardian?
Perhaps you missed this series called “The Librarians”?
Legally speaking, are you even allowed to do a Dean Devlin TV series without Christian Kane?
Hasn’t yet appeared in ‘The Ark’. There’s probably still time though.
I think Rebecca Romijn is out of their price range right now.
I was already looking forward to it, and this is icing on the cake.
Can’t wait to see this spin-off series Interested to see how they deal with the fact that Flynn and Baird were tethered to the library, which made them immortal.
they are in the far away librarian heaven with Judson and Charlene
