  • John Bourchier, 2nd Baron Berners (1467–1533)

On his death the Barony of Berners fell into abeyance between his two daughters, Mary, Lady Unton and Jane Knyvet.  Despite the abeyance being theoretically terminated about 1550 by the death without issue of the elder of the two daughters, the barony was not claimed by the younger daughter or by any of her immediate descendants.  When its continuing existence was established by the House of Lords decision in 1720, the barony was deemed to have lain dormant since about 1550:

  • Thomas Knyvett, de jure 7th Baron Berners (d. 1693) (abeyant 1693)

On his death the Barony of Berners is deemed to have fallen into abeyance between his two sisters, Elizabeth Glemham and Katharine Harris.  On the death without issue of her nephew, Captain Thomas Glemham, in 1711 the younger daughter became sole heiress to the barony:

  • Katherine Harris later Bokenham, née Knyvett, 8th Baroness Berners (1658–1743) (abeyance terminated 1711; abeyant 1743)

On her death the Barony of Berners fell into abeyance amongst the heirs of the body of her uncle, Thomas Knyvet.  In 1832 the abeyance of the Barony of Berners was terminated in favour of his great-great-grandson:
