Great hotel that has maintained much of it's historic architecture and fittings. Small glitch on check-in but was resolved quickly. Room was a bit on the small side and the bed was only queen size but the room was well appointed, modern and clean. Had drinks in the bar downstairs - very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Unfortunately we could only stay one night - next time we will stay longer. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Perfectly placed in the heart of Melbourne and reasonably priced. The room was small and a little tired looking but very clean. The bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Overall it was very good value for a short stay. Would stay again for an overnight trip but would seek something larger for an extended stay.

Good location, close to shopping,eateries and heaps of people around. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room are ok since we are out most of the time to shower and sleep. We booked thru your reservation by email and it all works out beautifully. We will not hesitate to book thru your reservation again on our trip either later this year or early next year. From the time of booking and subsequent emails from Reservation manager Nikita to the follow up emails from Andrew the customer relations manager this is one of the best hotels I have stayed. The hotel itself is immaculate with beautiful old world finishes. The rooms are clean and have all amenities you could ever want. Close to all shopping and restaurants and of course Crown Casino all walking distance. I would like to congratulate the staff mentioned above for their exemplary service and the hotel for a wonderful weekend.

We were motivated to select this hotel after a great stay at the Rendezvous in Auckland. Our 2-night break for our Anniversary in Melbourne was made all the better with the fantastic service from Andrew from Guest Services. Andrew not only took the time to build up rapport with us, the clients, during the booking stage but was extremely friendly and helpful when we happened to meet him at work during our stay at the hotel. It's such people who truly make your experience memorable. The hotel was well managed and conveniently located. Great location close to attractions. friendly concierge that is very welcoming and provides customer service how it should be. love the fresh vanilla smell in entrance and the ambience of the building. Appreciate the fact that we could check in early so we could get to the MCG all refreshed after flight. Room was slightly noisy being on 9th floor we could hear air cond through the night. Overall good stay 8/10

i booked this hotel due to its location, it is directly opposite Flinders Street Station with easy access to everything. The hotel room overlooked the Yarra and looked onto Southbank. The rooms were generous sizing and had everything you would need. We My husband and i have stayed in alot of hotels and this was up there. Nice clean rooms and amenities definitely stay here again

This is my second stay at the hotel and the first time that I stayed in the heritage room. I tell you what it is definitely worth the money to upgrade! I do agree with some comments on here that the superior rooms are a bit small as that's what we found last time and as we stayed for 4 nights we wanted something a little bigger with some room to move and this was great! The staff were extremely helpful upon check in, and even helped my boyfriend try to track down the taxi he lost his phone in! All staff were great throughout our stay and would often come up to us in the lobby to ask where we were from and how we were enjoying Melbourne. Hadn't stayed here before but definitely will from now on. Great value for money. Perfect, easy access location - trams and train station out the front, right near shops, lane-ways, restaurants, short walk from mall, easy walk to sports stadiums (MCG, Rod Laver etc). Was worried it might be noisy - but it wasn't at all. Classic, old-world hotel charm but with all the mod-cons, super friendly staff and lots of them. Nice bar, good breakfast. Room was on the small size but all I needed (stayed in the base room, can't remember if this is Deluxe or Superior). Based on this experience, I'll definitely be staying here in the future.
