Synopsis

Wealthy John Sullivan, Sr., disappears after a crash landing near his ranch in the Amazon River territory, and his three sons--racing driver John, Jr., playboy-gambler Patrick, and surfer-student Kevin--journey to South America to form a search party. After meeting at Kiva, they travel upstream to the Izos Indian country where they rescue a young boy about to be sacrificed by headhunters. They also encounter Miss Wingate, an eccentric retired schoolteacher, and Doris Wheeler, a young woman who had made arrangements with their father for a safari. As the three sons continue their search, they are confronted by Juan Clemente, a revolutionary guerrilla, who tells them he is holding their father for $100,000 ransom. Lacking the necessary funds, the boys appeal to their father's business partner, Rudi Andujar, for help. But he will lend them the money only if he is given control of the Sullivan empire should their father be dead. Once the offer has been rejected, the boys are kidnaped by rebels and taken to Clemente's camp where they are reunited with their captive father. Andujar also appears, announces he is in league with Clemente, and threatens to kill the boys unless Mr. Sullivan signs over his estate to the revolutionaries. But unexpected help comes when Miss Wingate arrives in a helicopter firing a machine gun. During the diversion, John, Jr., throws a grenade into the artillery supply house, Clemente is shot, and Andujar falls victim to piranhas. When they return to the Sullivan ranch, the three sons spot three attractive young tourists and decide to remain a while longer in South America. And Mr. Sullivan is already romancing the spunky Miss Wingate.
