      Critics Consensus

An initially intriguing sci-fi thriller that quickly veers into incoherence, Infinite is as inane as it is inconsequential.

Brad Newsome Sydney Morning Herald The visuals are spectacular, but things get increasingly derivative as they progress, and Jason Mantzoukas' ill-conceived comic-relief character falls clangingly flat. Rated: 3/5 Aug 11, 2021 Full Review Lindsey Bahr Associated Press It's exactly the kind of big, silly, occasionally exciting spectacle that have come to define summer movie season, for better or worse. There's even an opening for a sequel. Rated: 2/4 Jun 18, 2021 Full Review Randy Myers San Jose Mercury News "Infinite" is overcluttered with special effects and plagued by wooden acting and doesn't have one genuine character in it. Rated: 1/4 Jun 16, 2021 Full Review M.N. Miller Ready Steady Cut With so many past lives to choose from, the filmmakers of Infinite still repeated the same mistakes when there should have been limitless possibilities. Instead, it’s an endless exercise in suspense-free filmmaking. Rated: 1.5/5 Oct 9, 2022 Full Review Zoë Rose Bryant Loud and Clear Reviews Infinite is at times comedically convoluted, but thanks to brilliant world-building and stellar action setpieces, it’s riotously entertaining regardless. Rated: 3/5 Sep 1, 2022 Full Review Keith Garlington Keith & the Movies Perhaps the movie’s biggest shortcoming is that it spends a lot of time talking about relationships from the past rather than building any meaningful new ones on screen. Jason W Could have been great. Biggest problem is they rushed the beginning to get to the meat and potatoes, (which also didn't really hit well), instead of showing him coming to terms with the knowledge of his rebirth. If they had borrowed a bit from Assassins Creed and had him walk through his memories, learn from them it could have been a 5*. Disappointing for a film that had much promise. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 05/20/24 Full Review Igor S Love Mark Wahlberg but this was a huge miss for me. Can't believe the Director who made "Training day" is the same who made this movie. I think he must have been substituted by a younger amateur version of himself, because that's what this movie was: amateurish. Either that, or, 1, the movie was destroyed in the cutting room; 2, it was destroyed by the suits interfering. Save your time. Rated 1 out of 5 stars 04/29/24 Full Review Texas 1 It was a great idea but got corny at the end. Rated 2 out of 5 stars 04/09/24 Full Review Daniel G Slick concept, but defying belief even more than Matrix, a source from which it certainly drew some of its looks. In the end, a bit of a sorry excuse for car chases, world travel, killing of lots of faceless soldiers, airplane stunts - no sex, though. I usually like movies in which Mark Wahlberg appears, but this one is just lost within itself, in endless loops. Rated 2.5 out of 5 stars 02/17/24 Full Review Elaine H Infinite despite Mark Wahlberg's commendable performance, falls short due to a predictable plot and lackluster chemistry between the lead actors. While Wahlberg shines individually, he struggles to carry the weight of the entire movie on his shoulders. The film's premise, centered around the familiar theme of saving the Earth and freeing others, fails to offer a fresh perspective. Unfortunately, the lack of compelling chemistry between Wahlberg and his co-star further diminishes the overall impact of the film, leaving audiences with a forgettable and uninspiring cinematic experience Rated 1 out of 5 stars 12/05/23 Full Review Dhruv S Infinite despite an intriguing aesthetic and premise falls short in almost every way possible. Its filled with boring characters, dumped expositions, underacting, overacting, terrible cg, etc... The list goes on. By the end your left with nothing to grasp onto. Its safe to say infinite is not worth watching. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/02/23 Full Review Read all reviews Post a rating
