Death Records

The Alpena County Clerk's Office only has death certificates for individuals who died in Alpena County. Death certificates are public records and can be obtained by anyone. You will need to provide the name on the death certificate, as well as the date of death.

Death records may be ordered in person or through the mail. If by mail, the death record will be mailed to you within 2 to 4 days. If in person, it will take between 10 to 15 minutes.

There is a $16 fee for the first certified copy and a $6 fee for each additional copy of the same record ordered at the same time. All copies issued by this office are certified copies with a raised seal.
