Far, far ago, the ancients wrote upon the scroll that dark forces would sweep our realm until only Yonderland remained. But they telled also of a saviour come from a distant world to save us from the shadows ... And stuff!

Reformation is the third episode of Series 1 of Yonderland. It first aired on Sky 1 on 17 November 2013.

Summary[]

Debbie learns that, sometimes, honesty isn't the best policy when she and Elf bump into The Monks of Old John, an order of Monks who cannot tell a lie.

Full synopsis[]

Pete is auditioning for a part in HMS Pinafore, the only problem is, he can't sing. Debbie asked if perhaps there are any non-singing roles which upsets Pete and leads him to compare her to Simon Cowell.

Meanwhile, back in Yonderland, Negatus has a new toy, The Font of Oris, which grants him the power of the all seeing eye. By using the font he is able to see a destroyed monastery once belonging to The Monks of Old John, also known as The Monks of Truth due to their founder's commandment that they must always tell the truth, expressing their thoughts and opinions openly and, in most cases, offensively. It is because of this Negatus covered the monastery in Ogre Musk and had Ogres attack. However, Negatus discovers that some of the order had survived and sends his minions to take care of them.

Debbie finds the remaining monks and aids them in their escape by attempting to teach the skill of lying and giving them some of Pete's suits. Once disguised Debbie comments that the suits look better on Pete and they look like estate agents but that is is an improvement.

Now, with Negatus' minions and bounty hunters in hot pursuit, the monks must make a pilgrimage to the great temple, the ancestral home of the great non-fibber The Moon Under the Water, which turns out to be a local tavern, much to the dismay of the Brothers. Once inside they further learn from an old pub-goer that 'Honest John' wasn't quite so honest after all, in fact he was a terrible booze hound.

Rita, Neil and Jeff finally catch up with the monks and question them, however after hearing the news that their order had been based upon lies, they manage to successfully fib their way out of trouble by saying they are estate agents, causing the minions to seek somewhere else for the survivors.

At another table Mr Havelock yet again attempts his proposal to Miss Fanshawe by slipping a ring in to her champagne flute but in the commotion of the exiting demons, Miss Fanshawe swallows the ring and chokes, falling unconscious resulting in Mr Havelock preforming the Heimlich maneuver on her.

The monks bid Debbie and Elf farewell and thank her for setting them free. They now wonder what do do with their live now the truth no longer binds them, estate agency of course!

Back in Debbie's world, Pete tries to impress her with his audition again, leading her to realize, perhaps her previous response hurt Pete, so this time telling him it was great and she could see him preforming at the Albert Hall.

Elsewhere in Yonderland, Elf is excited to see a once in a lifetime spectacle, for every thousand years all the trees in the Forest of Garvin, in perfect unison, yawn. However, despite many efforts to get Debbie to escort him, he ends up missing it due to the help needed by The Monks. Elf quips "It's fine, I'll catch it next time. Oh, no, that's right ... I'll be dead!"
