      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

The inexplicable pairing of Clint Eastwood with an orangutan is the least of Every Which Way But Loose's problems -- a slack action-comedy with a haphazardly assembled story.

Dave Kehr Chicago Reader Eastwood has the best double take in the business, there are some interesting glimpses of blue-collar LA, and the downbeat ending displays a genuine moral intelligence. James H A rare comedic performance from Clint Eastwood is a decent performance as a trucker & brawler Philo Beddoe the funny moments come from his pet Clyde the Orangutan Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 12/10/23 Full Review kylie a Clint Eastwood, an orangutan, a cranky gun toting old lady and underground fighting. Throw in an idiotic motorcycle club, an annoying girlfriend (who he should've dumped in the movie AND in real life) and some great one liners and you've got a great movie. The 70's flared jeans, and the feathered hair adds to the laid back, loose flow vibe. Just enjoy it for what it is - A fun movie where you can leave your brain at the door. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/18/23 Full Review Les N Clint Eastwood just can't fail. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 11/17/23 Full Review Michael T I'm glad to see that Clint Eastwood has a sense of humor. I thought this movie was hilarious. It was a bit slow moving. They could have pared off 15 or 20 minutes, but when it was funny it was laugh out loud funny. The story was totally zany, so don't expect any sophisticated plot. There isn't any. In the end he wasn't any better off than when he started, but his enemies were worse off. That was the joke. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 04/14/23 Full Review Devon B With it's very colorful 70s style and amazing lighting of L.A is where the movie was good and some funny comic relief scenes This movie is actually quite entertaining to watch.
