Where is "Voice Isolation" option?

PostThu Nov 24, 2022 6:56 pm

I'm using the newest 18.1.1 build 7 Resolve. Not studio version.
I have watched this video about the new free Resolve: https://imgsh.net/a/UsaLfIY.jpg
This video is about just Resolve, not Resolve studio. There is not mention that some futures are limited to Studio version. One of many new futures is "Voice Isolation".

I've run my Resolve version and looked for "Voice Isolation"

I do NOT see this option. Where it is.

I have also verified the new manual: https://documents.blackmagicdesign.com/ ... 8153611000

I don't see any limitation of "Voice Isolation" to paid Studio Version.

So, this option should be available in Resolve as well as Resolve Studio.

Where is this option in free Davinci Resolve?

Where is this stated?

All restricted options have annotation in PDF manual.

"Voice isolation" doesn't have any annotation, but many other options have annotation that they are available only in Studio Version.

Additionally this option is demonstrated in the video about FREE Resolve version: https://imgsh.net/a/UsaLfIY.jpg

The 18.1 announcement on the forum, the Readme file on the download page, the same Readme on the installer, all qualify Voice isolation as a Studio feature.

The free version of DaVinci Resolve does not have the voice isolation feature.

The video covers both free and Studio versions, expanding on the "What's New" announcements and adding context.

I hope that answers your question.

As a customer I download final manual PDF for the app....where I see all information about the app.
All options limited to Studio version have relevant annotation: https://imgsh.net/a/ENY9H3g.jpg

SO, we can say that official PDF document misleads customers because there is no information about this limitation.

The manual is obviously lagging behind the final release of Resolve which is hardly unusual.
I do know that in a certain build of 18.1 voice isolation was accidentally available in the free version, maybe they originally intended to have it in free who knows, in any case, it is now a studio only feature.

You have been severely misled about the limitations of this free software. Oh, woe is me.

First, thanks for this thread, non of the tutorial videos I was watching mentioned that voice Isolation was a paid feature, I thought I was doing something wrong, but now I know.

Secondly, if you admit you're only using the free version, how are you a customer? That implies some sort of commercial exchange took place. Using a free product that a company was nice enough to provide doesn't really make one a customer.
