Everyone's Favorite Phantom Thief is Back & Better Than Ever!

After many years of waiting, Magic Kaito is finally getting the 24 Episode Anime adaptation that it deserves. Ever since the Magic Kaito specials were aired in 2011, I've been craving for more Magic Kaito from Gosho Aoyama. Since he only releases 2 to 3 chapters of the manga a year, it's a real treat when he can release more chapters of this series for his fans. The Manga first came out in 1988 and is still ongoing today, the only problem is that he can't release regular chapters since the popularity of Detective Conan (Case Closed). But I'm thankful of all the work he puts out to the fans. Magic Kaito 1412 is a great series for anybody who is interested in magic, mystery, romance, comedy, and action. It's well balanced and you can definitely tell there is a lot of love being put into this series. If you're a hardcore Kaito Kid fan, this series is right up your ally because Kaito is the main star who is hunting down the people who murdered his father. If you're used to the Gosho Aoyama formula, you'll appreciate the call backs it does to Detective Conan and to earlier episodes in the Detective Conan franchise. The animation quality is great, the music fits well in the series, and the development of the plot is well paced. If you've been looking for a series to get yourself into, I definitely recommend Magic Kaito 1412.

Magic Kaito 1412: The Unique Show You Never Knew You Wanted

This show has humor, some romance, magic and lovable characters that don't ask too much of the viewer. It's great for anyone looking for a lighthearted show that won't mess with your feels (in a negative way). I don't quite know why I love this show so much, but as an avid anime fan, I recommend it to all. The pointy noses even grow on you!

Magic here, Magic there, Magic Everywhere!

Very underated anime series (Right when you thought you knew what trick he would pull he fools you and does something you would never expect Episode 19 is a fantastic example of this pros/cons - keeps you at the edge of your seat - has 0 fan service - art such as how noses are portrayed could be better

Phantom Thief, Kaito Kuroba.

So I was looking through the Winter 2015 Lineup and saw the continuing Simulcasts. Happened to bump into Magic Kaito at the very bottom of the list for the new simulcasts. I saw the cover for the series and I was like, "Oh man, that's PRETTY fancy, meh, let's give it a try". Never regretted it. This anime is probably going to be at the top of my list for this year's top 10 anime. The story's pretty interesting, I don't see any fanservice but then again, I'm kind of blind as a bat. The story follows a young man named Kaito Kuroba. He learns that his father was the famous Kid The Phantom Thief. Things start to heat up as he learns that his father was murdered and then the hunt begins. You won't regret it. Time flew by way too fast with this series. Loved every last moment of it. It's balanced, there's a light, comedic side to it and then there's a "slightly" more serious/darker side to it. Bit hard to explain. >_< Just watch it. You'll see. They're missing episodes 5-10, just find them on other sites. ALSO they cutted off a good 6 minutes off of the 12th episode.

Charming and delightful! Watch it! Extremely underrated show.

I'm surprised Magic Kaito has not received more attention. While the character's sharp noses (which could slice through brick) threw me off at first, I couldn't help but keep watching. I quickly got used to that aspect of the art. Don't let the noses put you off, you'll miss out on a great show if you do! Magic Kaito really knows how to keep your attention through the characters' relationships, dialogue, and actions. While you may say "Wow, that was cheesy," a lot throughout this show, it is what makes this anime what it is. Instead of taking away from the quality, those cheesy lines add to it and make it even more attractive. Many moments of laughter to be had. Watching Kaito Kuroba show off his magic makes up a large part of the anime's allure in addition to the cheesy aspect of the anime. I couldn't get enough of it, nor could I stop smiling throughout each episode. I would love to see more of Magic Kaito! See you next illusion!
