About Philippe Martinez

From 1988 through 1990, Philippe Martinez was President of the famous Odeon Theater in Marseilles, one of the largest playhouses in Europe. At the end of 1990, at the age of 22, he decided to focus on a career as a feature film producer and moved to the United States. Since 1999, when Philippe launched Bauer Martinez Studios, he has produced over 60 films, 14 of which he directed.

Martinez has directed 14 feature films: Citizen Verdict (Armand Assante), Wake of Death (Jean Claude Van Damme), The Chaos Experiment (Val Kilmer), VIKTOR (Gerard Depardieu/Elizabeth Hurley), General Commander (Steven Seagal) five films in the Mister Mayfair series (Armand Assante, Steven Bauer), Father Christmas is Back (Elizabeth Hurley, John Cleese, Kelsey Grammer, Nathalie Cox), One Year Off (Jeff Fahey, Nathalie Cox, Chad Michael Collins), A Week in Paradise (Malin Ackerman, Connie Nielsen, Philip Winchester), Christmas in the Caribbean (Elizabeth Hurley, Caroline Quentin, Nathalie Cox and Edoardo Costa) and, most recently, Christmas in Paradise (Kelsey Grammer, Elizabeth Hurley, Billy Ray Cyrus and Nathalie Cox).

Martinez has just recently produced two Christmas films: the sequel to Father Christmas is Back (Christmas in Paradise) and Christmas in the Caribbean; The Siege (a gritty action film), A Week in Paradise (a romance), Assailant (thriller), One Year Off (a friend’s reunion comedy), the original Father Christmas is Back, and The York Witches Society (a classic horror).  This spring, Martinez produced suspense thriller Ocean Deep starring Connie Nielsen as well as the directorial debut of Damian Hurley, a short film, Mama, starring Elizabeth Hurley.  Action film The Island just wrapped production in Saint Kitts and Nevis.  He is currently producing First Law (a CGI Trilogy), and is in pre-production on several projects, including: Black Noise (a Sci-fi action) and The Seducing of George (a couples comedy).

Philippe is a graduate of The National Academy of Dramatic Art in Marseille.
