All rise for All Rise’s Judge Lola Carmichael (played by Simone Missick)—because she’s not going anywhere. In May 2021, news came that the legal drama All Rise, which follows a group of judges and prosecutors in L.A., was canceled after two seasons on CBS. But now the cult-favorite show has a new home on OWN, and season three is finally premiering on Tuesday, June 7.

The series has been lauded for its handling of real-world issues, including the Covid-19 pandemic, the Black Lives Matter movement, and the nuances of America’s criminal justice system, as well as its cast of formidable yet likable characters. In season three, the series will continue to tell stories that center Judge Carmichael, an empathetic, capable woman who has risen to the top of her field. Lola will have to balance her demanding docket with new motherhood.

“I am absolutely thrilled that Tina Perry, Ms. Winfrey, and the rest of the OWN family have extended us the grace to continue telling impactful stories on their network,” Dee Harris-Lawrence tells Oprah Daily. Harris-Lawrence, who also helmed OWN’s Peabody Award–winning series David Makes Man, took over as showrunner of All Rise in 2020.

She thanked executives at Warner Media, including Warner Bros. chairman Channing Dungey and Warner Bros. president Brett Paul, “for their tireless efforts in securing a home for a show that still has a lot to say and a lot of story to tell.” According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dungey immediately started working to find a new home for All Rise after its cancellation.

Ahead of its long-awaited premiere, here’s what we know about the future of All Rise.

All Rise returns for a third season on June 7, 2022.

The 20-episode third season of All Rise premieres on June 7, 2022 at 8:00 PM Eastern Time/7:00PM Central Time, OWN confirmed.

Expect to see the same cast.

Harris-Lawrence revealed that All Rise’s entire cast and crew will also make the switch from CBS to OWN for the third season. This includes Missick, Wilson Bethel (deputy district attorney Mark Callan), Jessica Camacho (public defender Emily Lopez), J. Alex Brinson (deputy sheriff Luke Watkins), Lindsay Mendez (court reporter Sara Castillo), Sherri Kansky (Ruthie Ann Miles), Robin Taylor (Todd Williams), and more.

“The fact that we have retained most of this very talented and hardworking cast and crew, led by the undeniable Simone Missick, for a third season of All Rise speaks volumes. Not to mention that we get to do it on a network that I’ve called home for the past two seasons of David Makes Man,” Harris-Lawrence said in a statement to Oprah Daily.

Simone Missick says feels “more connected” to the show’s third season.

Missick, on her end, says to Oprah Daily that her new role as executive producer makes her feel “so much more connected” to the legal drama.

“I wake up to emails, and I go to bed to emails,” Missick says. “During the day, I’m watching audition tapes, handling aspects of our marketing campaign, checking the schedule for publicity, doing costume fittings, and then filming maybe two episodes in one day, like I’m doing today. But it’s the happiest I’ve ever been. Every day, it’s a gift to be able to do what I love with our crew.”
