I spent the weekend here in September and I was beyond impressed. I was recognized and thanked for being a Diamond member upon check-in. They were able to get me in early as my train arrived in Chicago in the morning. They had wonderful communication prior to my stay via the Hilton Honors app in addition to a welcome text the morning of check-in. The front desk staff were amazing — every single one of them! They spoke or waved every time we were coming and going and offered restaurant suggestions and area attractions without hesitation. I had a suite and it had been recently remodeled and looked even better than the website photos! The room was absolutely spotless — not a dust bunny in sight! They also had a pool (I don’t swim, but it looked nice) and an outdoor lit terrace on the second floor which we enjoyed both nights. It was quiet and peaceful and we didn’t even feel like we were in a city. This is by far the nicest Hampton Inn I’ve stayed in and I’ve already recommended this property to friends looking for Chicago travel. Thank you for a wonderful, clean stay! EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with my entire stay!

I chose the hotel because of its location. Its bang in Downtown with close proximity to all the happening places in the city. I was here on Christmas and as luck would have it everything was closed. The receptionist was kind enough to hand over a leaflet with a list of restaurants operating and offering deliveries to the hotel- That was a lovely caring touch for travelers who were checking in after 6:00 PM (like me)

Day 2 and 3 were amazing. I could walk out and tour any part of the city thanks to number of bus stops and underground MTA stations nearby in close proximity. My favorite Starbucks was just around the corner and so were quite a few huge departmental store, 7 Eleven outlets and Subway-around the corner. Overall the stay was awesome- rooms were big, sleep quality awesome, toiletries in plenty and cleanliness a huge plus point. I would love to stay here again. The only flip side of the stay was the breakfast which was awful.

Good things about the property:

Not so good thing about the Property:
Breakfast: Passable 2.5 Star (No offense but that’s the case with the other 3 properties of Hampton I stayed in US as well – Providence as well as Manhattan. Only surprise was Hampton by Hilton in Berlin City Centre where the Breakfast was just amazing – Probably because it was Europe)

Thank you so much for taking the time to review our hotel in such detail and with such kind words! Our complimentary breakfast buffet adheres to all of the Hampton standards and more for the US (Europe does have different standards) and is intended to provide a quality sustenance to start the day. By no means would I advertise us as the best breakfast restaurant in the area as there are a plethora of award winning restaurants within walking distance, but for the price (complimentary!) and the offerings I would say we've got an excellent option for those traveling! This Hampton Inn is in an older building, centrally located in River North, which is an area I really like. It's less crowded than others neighborhoods and there are a number of good trendy restaurants. The lobby/common space is very small. I didn't use the exercise room or eat the breakfast so can't comment on either. The room was clean, comfortable, updated. Bed was comfortable. So if you need a no frills room in this area it was fine. Valet was $59 overnight. RPM restaurant is kitty corner, very popular. Magnificent Mile is a 10 minute walk, the aquarium was a 50 minute walk. We don't mind walking.

We were very pleased staying at this hotel. The price point was very good as compared to a lot of hotels in the greater location, Plus of course included breakfast. The property has been updated, everyone was friendly, and I really enjoyed the outdoor communal patio. Everything looked clean including the pool, and the exercise room. This hotel had everything we needed at a solid price in a good location. I would definitely stay again when returning to Chicago.

My boyfriend and our friends all had a lovely night in the double queen 1 bedroom corner suite. It was very clean and comfortable with plenty of seating and space. My only problem was the pool was not open when we went to use it. I booked this place specifically because it’s hot outside and that’s where we spent most of our time. I called ahead of time, a few times even, just to make sure the pool would be open and without reservation. I told them we wouldn’t be swimming until after 8pm and they said that was fine, as the pool is open 6am-10pm. When we went, as soon as we got inside we were followed in by a security guard who immediately told us all to leave because the pool was “closing early.” He said it would be open again in the morning. We really wanted to go swimming so we were there around 6:30am and there were multiple paper signs all over the door reading “pool closed until further notice.”
It’s not the hugest deal in the world but still pretty disappointing.

The bed was as hard as concrete. They advertised "Complimentary Breakfast" which was a glorified lunchable. The "breakfast" only had coffee no water. When I asked about water they told me to go to the lobby to purchase water. WTF water is basic human necessity.

Amazing stay at this property. The staff was what made it so great. Prior to our arrival, the staff reached and they stayed in touch in a way that was super helpful. They answered questions and provided recommendations upon request. Our check-in was smooth. The location is perfect - walking distance to some of the great downtown attractions and just far away enough to not be crowded by street activities. Special call out to Nicole, Cecily, and Daniel who were very responsive, friendly and helpful. I look forward to my next stay here!

The staff at this location are some of the nicest and most helpful people a person could hope for. I originally booked my trip for 4 days, but due to some unfortunate weather my flight was canceled. Yanis helped me adjust my stay and get everything fixed. While my time in Chicago was short I was given some excellent restaurant recommendations from Porsche (Wildberry, BEATRIX, and XOCO). This is a lovely location in downtown Chicago with many delicious restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. You can also catch the blue line that goes directly to O'Haire if you want a less expensive way to get to the airport. The only "negative" thing about this location is the fire station a block over, but I will say that this never disturbed my sleep at any point. Maybe bring some earplugs or something if you are a light sleeper or request a room away from the street. Thank you again to Yanis and Porsche for all the help!

Construction on the hotel has created numerous problems with staying there. The entrance to the hotel is boarded up, and the entrance is not marked. It is difficult even to find the temporary entrance to the hotel.
I was charged twice (both times incorrectly) for parking, and am currently in the process of disputing/resolving the over billing.

Thank you for your feedback, although disappointing to see you focused on only the negative aspects of your stay which we have worked tirelessly to prevent. Construction is well noted on our hotel website, mobile app, all 3rd party websites in addition to pre-arrival emails from myself and notices sent through 3rd party websites - all include the correct temporary address of 445 N Dearborn with description and I encourage all reading to please be aware or call us with questions before you get frustrated. Departing the hotel unexpectedly can lead to confusion when it is not clear if you are leaving for the day or checking out early, clarifying that would have prevented any billing issues, but I am glad we connected yesterday to adjust as necessary. We spent 5 nights at this hotel having chosen it for two reasons. My daughter stayed here a few months earlier and was happy with her experience and the location was what we needed. We arrived late after a flight delay, but the staff member was gracious and helpful at check in. He advised us that the hotel would only provide routine housekeeping on the fourth day of our stay, but that we could request extra service or anything we needed. The staff at the breakfast did an amazing job. Breakfast was busy, but the kept everything stocked, fresh, and looking good. They stayed cheerful and frequently offered help in spite of dealing with crowds. There were plenty of places to sit. The room itself had very comfortable beds and nice linens and plenty of fluffy towels. The room and elevators are showing some wear and damage, so it is clearly time for a little refurbishing, but everything was clean and in working order. We had two disappointments. Housekeeping did not show up on the fourth day, and we needed a few things and trash removal. I called the desk late afternoon and got and apology and was told someone would come. However, no one did. That night I stopped at the desk and was told that housekeeping is only provided on request. Not only were we told differently, but there was also a sign on the bath mirror saying the fourth day. I was not a big deal, since he gave me what we needed, but being in the room for five nights without expected service was unfortunate. We were also very sorry to be told "We don't do that here", when I asked where I could find recycling. We hate trashing recyclables and brought home what we could. Overall, it was still a good stay but we would like to see them do a little better. But the breakfast staff deserve a lot of praise. Also, in all fairness, the hotel was very crowded with a lot of families.

What are the added on fees when you check in? Parking, resort fee, destination fee, etc?

We had an early check in fee the first day and valet parking fee for the 2 days we stayed. Otherwise only taxes with room rate.

Unfortunately it doesn't. My fiance & I were looking forward to one. Even without the hot tub itself, the heated pool was extremely relaxing.
