Later that year, the couple — who are 18 years apart in age — jetted off to St. Barts on vacation together. Geary shared a photo of the island trip on Instagram with the caption: "Lucky to be in love with my best friend."

February 6, 2016: Robin Thicke and April Love Geary visit Santa Anita Park

Thicke and Geary visited Santa Anita Park in L.A. to watch the thoroughbred horse racing stakes.

The 18-year age difference between the couple was the subject of much chatter, something Geary shut down on Instagram while sharing photos from their vacation in the Maldives.

August 17, 2017: Robin Thicke and April Love Geary announce they're expecting

Baby on board! On Aug. 17, 2017, Geary and Thicke announced they were expecting their first child together on Instagram.

"Robin and I are very excited to share with you all that we're having a baby!" Geary captioned a sonogram photo. "The due date is March 1st, Alan's birthday," referring to Thicke's late father and actor, Alan Thicke.

Geary also shared a photo of her baby bump in a bikini with the caption: "Happy in Hawaii with my lil peanut."

January 20, 2018: Robin Thicke and April Love Geary throw a baby shower

On Jan. 20, 2018, Thicke and Geary joined their family and friends in Malibu, California, for a lavish baby shower.

"We were so lucky to be surrounded by so much love and joy," Thicke told PEOPLE exclusively about the pink-themed party, later adding, "The kids loved the balloons, face painting, jump house, churros and desserts. The adults enjoyed the food and the dance floor!"

One extra-special touch was a giant floral wall that revealed the baby's name: Mia. Thicke explained that his son with ex-wife Patton suggested the name.

"Julian came up with the name … and I suggested the middle name Love after her mommy."
