Despite DC’s struggle to qualify for the playoffs, Pant’s performance stood out. In 13 games, he scored 446 runs at an average of 40.54 and a strike-rate of 155.40, with 3 fifties and a top score of 88 not out. Pant emerged as the only DC batter to accumulate over 400 runs this season.

In a recent match against KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), DC secured a victory by 19 runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Pant acknowledged the challenge posed by Nicholas Pooran, who scored 61 runs, and Arshad Khan, who remained unbeaten on 58 runs. Despite the pressure, DC managed to execute their plans and clinch the win.

Throughout the season, DC faced various injury concerns, including the absence of David Warner. However, Pant refused to use these setbacks as excuses, stating, “We started the season with a lot of hope, but there were injuries, and ups and downs. But as a franchise, you can’t complain all the time; you have to make use of what you have… There are some things which you can control, but some things which you can’t.”

After defeating LSG, DC currently sits in fifth place on the table with 14 points and a net run rate of -0.377, having won 7 out of 14 games. Pant’s remarkable comeback and performance have not only rejuvenated DC’s campaign but also earned him widespread acclaim and support from fans across the country.
