WWE Superstar Seth Rollins has reportedly finished his work on Captain America: Brave New World, and his role is also said to have been revealed. Previously, Rollins was spotted in character on the set, confirming his role in the fourth Captain America movie. His clothing led to speculation that his character was involved with the Serpent Society, but his specific role remained unclear.

Now, entertainment news scooper @CanWeGetSomeToast is sharing an update on the project, claiming that Rollins has officially wrapped filming on the film. The scooper also says that Rollins will be playing the role of King Cobra, a character in Marvel Comics who gets involved with the Serpent Society. While the report that Rollins is playing Cobra hasn't been officially confirmed by the wrestler or Marvel at this time, the casting does seem to match up with the Serpent Society speculation.

Rollins is, of course, best known for his pro wrestling career. He is one of the most popular performers in WWE and currently holds the company's World Heavyweight Championship. He has delved into acting, however, as he's had roles in the films Sharknado: The 4th Awakens, Armed Response, and Like a Boss. He's also done voiceover work for the animated film Like a Boss after voicing himself in the 2017 animated movie The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania!.

Captain America: Brave New World Moves the Story Forward Without Chris Evans

Anthony Mackie as Captain America

Chris Evans wrapped up his run as Captain America with Avengers: Endgame, and after the events of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie is stepping in to serve as the new Captain for Captain America 4. Director Julius Onah recently teased how this film will be taking an approach that's more grounded than other superhero films, following someone who doesn't have superpowers and faces other kinds of challenges.

"He is in a new position, stepping up to be the leader as Captain America," Onah said about Mackie's Sam Wilson. "It’s gonna be a new set of challenges for him. And in this story, a big part of his journey is how do you define that leadership? That’s the thing that he hasn’t had to deal with just yet. As a Falcon, he was always there supporting the rest of the team. But now, he’s the man leading the team, and I think that’s going to be a really exciting journey to go on with him."

Captain America: Brave New World was previously titled as Captain America: New World Order, so perhaps it's only fitting that a pro wrestler is a part of the cast. Along with Rollins and Mackie, the film also stars Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Tim Blake Nelson, Shira Haas, Xosha Roquemore, Liv Tyler, and Harrison Ford. Onah directs using a screenplay by Malcolm Spellman, Dalan Musson, and Onah.

Captain America: Brave New World will be released on May 3, 2024.
