Mini concert was awesome. We were not dressed to fit in with the rest of the crowd there but everyone was cool and nice. Awesome place and the other bands were cool to watch, something different for us. Great place !

The sound in this venue is amazing. No matter where you locate yourself it is like being front and center. The bar staff are quick and attentive and the beers are light on the wallet. Now, you guys know second hand smoke is bad for you. Let’s not smoke in such an otherwise perfect place.

We came here with a friend for a concert. This is a good spot to hang out. There was a concert the night we came but the music was ok for me, just not my type.

Loved the band but this place has the worst drink selection I’ve ever seen at a music venue. Add some cheap wine and offer diet soda options and it’ll improve your score instantly. And upgrade your liquor selection to offer a higher quality.

Best all ages place in SA to see new alternative bands. Heart of the St. Mary's strip, with plenty of other clubs and restaurants a short walk away. Even though it's all ages, they have two full bars with a great beer selection. Good security and service, nice selection of food trucks outside. The stage is great, small venue where there's good views from most of the floor. Nice outdoor area attached to indoor venue so the smokers are happy. Great little courtyard with picnic tables for relaxation between bands. Have seen some top-notch bands there in the last year: Built to Spill, Saint Motel, The Front Bottoms, The Growlers, Diet Cig, Baio, Y4cht. Only downside is lack of parking, and lack of lighting and security in parking areas.

Love the atmosphere, the size of the venue and the great customer service. We have been a couple of times and will definitely be back.

Paper Tiger is a smallish venue that is able to get some national acts that are not quite ready for theater size shows, one of the few spots in San Antonio for this kind of live music. There's an outdoor patio with a bar and picnic tables that sits in between two separate stages - a smaller one in a room that would hold less than 100 people, and a larger room for bigger acts. It's an all ages venue but they have full bar service. There are plenty of other bars and restaurants in short walking distance on the St. Mary's strip to go to before or after a show. There's really no parking for Paper Tiger itself, so get there early or take a ride share. It's a really nice place to see bands up close.

All in all, it was a nice spot to hear live music. The sound was good and I liked the open air feel. It could definitely use some more picnic tables or something on that order. Not everyone likes to stand all night long. The drink prices were a little expensive, but not outrageous. I will return if there is a show that I want to see, but I will not go there just to "hang out".

Is there a spot for parents to sit? Is the outdoor area big enough to hang out in while we wait for our teens.? Lol
Inside and outside the venue
Hi, my son is 17 and I already brought the tickets for Car Seat Headrest but he’s more on the short side, what’s the best place to watch the band comfortably without be on our tiptoes the whole event? Or at what time is better to arrive to guarantee a good spot? Thank you in advance.

I'm sure it will depend on how crowded the show is. Your best option is to get there early, find a spot, and stay there. We took our (small) teenager to a show earlier this month, got there at about the time shown on the ticket for the warmup band to start, and found a place close enough to the stage where she could see. Getting there that early also gave us a chance to get parking on a nearby street before the strip got crowded.
What is the best approach to parking at this venue? Suggestions??
