    I am really digging the re-recordings of Vision of You & Becoming More Like God, Hanging out with Youth from Killing Joke seems to have fixed some of the annoying production quirks thats stopped me buying recent Jah Wobble albums.
    The new version of " Visions of you" has a very pleasing "orb-ish" sound to it.
    I bought I Could have been a contender in 2004 and saw this new 6 cd set as a way of catching up on the great mans prolific output.
    This set features just 7 tracks from "Contender" so don't worry about Overlap
    for the record the tracks featured on Both compilations are: Visions of You, Public Image, Poptones, How Much Are They?, Becoming More Like God, A13 & Invaders of the Heart
    and 2 of these are different edits.
    Discs A "Greatest Hits" , C "world Roots" & E "Ambient, spoken word & Instrumental" are the strongest discs in this set

    Disc B "80's" has towering peaks(How Much are they?, Seaside Special, A13, Long Long Way, Invaders of the heart, Fading & Blueberry Hill) but awful crushing lows mired in 80's production and hideous drum machines (everything else)
    the sleeve notes state that the intention was to reflect the highs and lows of the decade, well job done but having to use the skip button so much is annoying.
    overall i recommend this set and look forward to the next box set promised in the liner notes
    some suggestions for the next set: some human condition tracks (if Jim Walker can be talked into approving it), some of his collabs like the Bartok single, more stuff with Holger Czukay like sudetenland
    and the On-U sound stuff like african head charge should at least be considered to see if any of it fits the "Vibe" of the set

    anyway whatever the tracklisting i can't imagine not buying it
