Some areas will see slightly cooler temps tonight. Skies will be clear with light winds.
A Red Flag Warning is in effect from noon Saturday through midnight Sunday for most areas on the Caprock, while a Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for the far eastern South Plains/far western Rolling Plains. Hot, dry, and breezy conditions may lead to critical fire weather conditions across the Caprock and the far southwestern and central Texas Panhandle.
Hot, very dry and breezy weather will bring elevated to critical fire weather conditions to portions of the far southern Texas Panhandle and South Plains. Be aware of the these wildfire prevention tips and avoid activities that may cause a spark or flame.

 

 

 

Local Weather History For May 24th...
1960: An F3 tornado damaged three houses in the community of Glenn (northern Dickens County) at 6:27 PM. A 15-foot wide
section of highway was torn up to about two inches deep. Some livestock were killed and several phone lines were downed.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
