I always thought this airline was passable but not so anymore. They gave me no Aeroplan miles on a codeshare flight that wasn't particularly cheap. This was not disclosed and finding this out required some repeated "customer service" calls. Apparently this is a thing with codeshare Lufthansa with other airlines too. Dirty trick. Luggage was not included and the option to purchase, supposedly available during check-in, was unavailable which made for undue stress due to last minute repacking. So plan on not being able to buy stowed luggage if you buy tickets to Europe. Of course, they are totally willing to lose your carry-on with your life-saving medicine, jewellery and other valuables in the hold assuming it fits the exact dimensions of a carry-on, "for free". One meal and one snack on a 10 hour flight, and I got to find out I am a vegetarian. The steward thought it was my job to ask the potentially violent drunk ahead of me to put his chair up for meals and they charge for coffee on short flights. Gosh, I found the only German who doesn't like to enforce rules. And WOW, charging for coffee now. If this was an isolated instance, it would be no biggy, but it's the new norm and it isn't a holiday. As such, my wife and I have decided to stop travelling.

Unfortunately had to use LH as a connection via FRA to US. Agents treat colored passengers differently. Made me check- in my carryon bag though it easily fits cabin. When I said it easily fits in United cabin (my final airlines to US & I'm a frequent flier), the agent said only 8kg but obviously she did not even bother measuring the weight. I saw people with bigger and heavier bags allowed in the cabin. Treated an elderly Arab lady behind me similarly. If you are brown, try to avoid. You can look up their racist stories towards brown all over the internet!

Absolute joke, the plane had a defect air conditioner, a delay of 1 hr and people where kicked off the flight because it was overbooked. On top of that german police literally put people for deportation on the plane as well further delaying the flight. The fact that people got kicked off bur illegals whwre allowed to stay is an absolute joke!

I was looking to change an outbound flight to a new flight a few hours later. On the website the price was advertised as a $39 per ticket fee to change. These were on full fare business class tickets. The website showed my two fares during the checkout, one for $2000 ish per ticket, and another line below it for the $39. It was confusing enough to prompt me to call the customer service line. Customer service confirmed the price difference to be the $39. I assumed I was seeing the $2000 because it was the price before the credit for the original flight would be applied, and considering that customer service confirmed the price, I went ahead and clicked "purchase." $4000 charge on the card. Confused and freaking out, I call customer service again. No help. $4000 is the price and they can't reverse the charge or put me back on the same flight that left a couple hours earlier. Incredibly frustrating. The customer service supervisor told me to fill out a complaint online. All I am looking for is to get my original flight back. The website is super confusing with the way it communicates price, seemingly so much it confuses the customer service reps too.

We have been pleased with our Luftansa Airlines experiences in the past. Our last trip, however, was a disaster. Lufthansa now has a subsidiary called Discovery Airlines that does not match the quality of Lufthansa flights by any measure. The seats were uncomfortable with only 14 inches of leg room. I felt like we were on a flying bus. The meals were nondescript and tasteless. The entertainment options were from the ‘80’s and 90’s. It was a dreadful 8 hour flight which left us miserable upon our arrival. I will NEVER fly Discovery ever again.
