Dress Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Oh, yeah, you're just my type
I'm lyin' when I'm lookin' away, hmm
I'm starin' up and down, I'm all around
Obsessed with your face

[Pre-Chorus]
Oh, what a mess I'm in, you're so masculine
Sweet like cherry cola
Drippin' confidence, lose my common sense
Kiss you 'til I'm sober

[Chorus]
I love the way you wear that dress
Makin' everyone upset
Burnin' that cigarette, boy
Swear to God I'll confess, boy
Cravin' your candy lips, all black fingertips
Looks so good, I'm annoyed
Make me wanna get undressed, boy
Love the way you wear that

[Verse 2]
Too cool demeanor, you don't mеan to
Damn, you're pullin' it off
And usually, I'm bored and I'm fakin' the convеrsations
Want you even more, with every word you're sayin'
[Pre-Chorus]
What a mess I'm in, you're so masculine
Sweet like cherry cola

[Chorus]
I love the way you wear that dress
Makin' everyone upset
Burnin' that cigarette, boy
Swear to God I'll confess, boy
Cravin' your candy lips, all black fingertips
Looks so good, I'm annoyed
Make me wanna get undressed, boy
Love the way you wear that

[Post-Chorus]
I love the way you wear that
I love the way you wear that
I love the way you wear that
I love the way you wear that
I love the way you wear that
I love the way you wear that

[Bridge]
Oh, what a mess I'm in, you're so masculine
Sweet like cherry cola
Drippin' confidence, lose my common sense
Kiss you 'til I'm sober
[Chorus]
I love the way you wear that dress
Makin' everyone upset
Burnin' that cigarette, boy
Swear to god I'll confess, boy
Cravin' your candy lips, all black fingertips
Looks so good, I'm annoyed
Make me wanna get undressed, boy
Love the way you wear that

Genius Annotation

On an Instagram post, Charlotte said

“We originally started writing this song about Harry Styles painting his nails and wearing dresses but it ended up being so much more than that. It’s a song about being attracted to someone because of their confidence and because they’re unapologetically themselves. I think it’s important to represent more than just the normal narrative of love or relationships in our society, and judging by the incredible reaction to this song I think a lot of people feel the same way. It’s a beautiful thing to be different and to be unique and to feel comfortable expressing yourself and I don’t think there could ever be enough music in the world encouraging that.”
