Overall, Palisades Charter High school is an amazing campus. The teachers, education, faculty, food, and architecture, here are just phenomenal. Palisades grants students endless opportunities to grow themselves, learn more, and find their inner self. The spirit of the Palisades Dolphins is strong and fearless, as we have immense compassion and support for our arts, sports teams, etc. I definitely would recommend applying to Pali! The teachers and workers here are extremely caring, and make sure to ensure you have the best education and will not give up at any cost to ensure your best interest.
Excellent school in every respect. Great spirit, academics, sports, diversity, teachers, parent community. My one reservation is that some AP classes assign excessive amounts of homework. The material is interesting and well taught. Just too much work for a student to complete without cutting corners. My child did great on the AP exams but wasn’t the kind of student to “work the system” and find shortcuts for homework. And so they got overwhelmed and ended up with Bs and Cs even though they got 5s on the AP tests. A systems that creates that kind of result isn’t working properly in my view. A well-designed course should have grades and scores align for the most part. College admissions for the school are reduced, because GPAs are pushed down. Students who take on a big challenge get penalized. And UC admissions are very GPA focused.
My favorite part about Pali is the location. It's next to the beach and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. Pali has good school spirit and our ASB does a good job of putting together events and activities. Our sports teams are very good and we have some great teachers, although also some not so great ones too. Being in the Pacific Palisades, majority of the students are white, so it's not very diverse. The facilities are more on the older side, but the campus feels safe, no less safe than any other school, especially considering it's in a very nice neighborhood.
