Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Mrs N HindleUnited Kingdom16 contributionsAbsolutely brilliant afternoon being shown around the Brewery by Kathy. The tour is really well planned and detailed. Lots of steps to climb but well worth the view of Bury St Edmunds when you get to the top. Kathy is very knowledgeable and so friendly. The beer tasting as part of the tour is great too. Lots of different ones to try and a free bottle to take home. Very much worth the money.Written 10 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Alison M1 contributionEfficient, straightforward bike hire with great customer service. Good condition bike and the hire charge was very reasonable making for an affordable family day out. The green route (9km) was lovely with excellent views and varied scenery - we weren't expecting to go that far with a 1 and 4 year old in tow but were having such a good time we extended our route.
We are regular visitors to ickworth as national trust members, but this was our first time cycling round the park. We will certainly do it again.Written 19 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I parked in the Cattle Market car park and walked across the town to the Cathedral grounds. The grounds are spectacular enough as they contain the remains of a destroyed abbey but once you enter the Cathedral it's like entering something from Camerlot. I have never come across a Cathedral with such a range of textures and colours on the floor, cleaning and stained glass. Excellent signage detailing the significant aspects of the Cathedrals features inc history, and the font is a wonder to behold. Easy contactless voluntary contribution available as well as toilet facilities and cafe/shop. The Cloester is very photogenic as is the whole building. I have visited dozens of Churches and Cathedrals and you can get a little fatigued in terms of the similarities but this was a surprise in the best kind of way.Written 4 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hazel SBury St. Edmunds, UK4 contributionsWe regularly have date nights here and sometimes call in for coffee and cake in the day. The bar area is spacious. Thestaff are lovely. We like to book a settee, buy a drink and snacks, and snuggle up together for a home-style film experience with great surround sound. Clientele here tend to be quiet and respectful of space. I'd like more arty films brutally in all we sport this place whenever we can.Written 18 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - corporate-lunchOxford, UK61 contributionsEven by the standards of small museums this stands out. We were just trying to kill an hour before lunch. There was an intelligently presented exhibition of female portraits. Every small child's dream of gruesomness in the Crimes and Misdemeanours section. And a massive explosion of David Hugh's sketches and work that was worth the price of admission in itself. A lovely, proud, confident and cleverly curated space. One of the gems of Bury St Edmunds.Written 8 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Murray PPorirua, New Zealand477 contributionsLovely relaxing spot with animals for the children to enjoy. Especially good on a sunny day. - essexmemberEssex189 contributionsGiovanni Pernice and his amazing team of dancers, singers and musicians certainly did entertain us! The performance was an absolute delight from beginning to end. Giovanni is the ultimate Showman who enthrals an audience with his dancing, singing and chat, This was a truly outstanding and spellbinding show which would not be out of place on a West End stage in London. We look forward to seeing Giovanni back here again in his next show.
Thank you also to all the Staff and Volunteers at the Apex who work so hard to bring these shows to us. On this occasion you definitely excelled yourselves!Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
