Kevin Maher Times (UK) From the guitar roar on the Dust Brothers' opening title track through to the thundering drums of Pixies' Where Is My Mind? it is pure synapse-splitting sensory overload and the road that commercial cinema refused to take. Rated: 5/5 Mar 15, 2024 Full Review Wendy Ide Times (UK) David Fincher’s adaptation of the Chuck Palahniuk novel is a shrewd and expertly crafted study of the male in crisis. May 24, 2023 Full Review Bob Thomas Associated Press Perhaps it is postmodern filmmaking, whatever that means. In any case, Fight Club remains the ugliest, most inhuman film since Natural Born Killers. Rated: C- Apr 7, 2020 Full Review Dennis Harvey 48 Hills Fight Club did indeed fly over the heads of audiences expecting straight macho action thrills, as opposed to a mind-messing critique of the same, as well as capitalism, material acquisition, masculinity and other sacred cows of national identity. Feb 14, 2024 Full Review Chuck Klosterman Akron Beacon Journal Fight Club is very, very, very good. Rated: 3.5/4 Oct 26, 2023 Full Review Manuel São Bento MSB Reviews With an absolutely brilliant direction and execution, David Fincher uses Jim Uhls’ captivating, layered, unconventional screenplay to tackle themes such as consumerism, society’s behavior, and mental health. João Victor u Íncrivel...Plotwist perfeito. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/04/24 Full Review Teddy B Deep-seated nihilism and iconically unconventional ways of conveying its story to the audience, 'Fight Club' is a great venture even if it comes off as rambling and scatterbrained in some instances. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 06/03/24 Full Review Kal S If there’s a line between gratuitous violence and insightful social comment, Fight Club crosses back and forth like a needle and thread, pulling the two together. It’s a film of ugly extremes, which, I like to think, hints at the beauty of balance. (Or maybe it’s just another thuggish fight film and I’m overthinking it!) Rated 4 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review elia R Definitely the best movie i have ever seen Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Audience Member amazing movie with a really good twist, message, and sound track Rated 5 out of 5 stars 06/02/24 Full Review Tom G The atmosphere of this film is perfectly constructed to leave the viewer questioning how applicable the film may be to their life by the end. Themes of brainless consumerism and the seemingly masculine urge to break free from the monotony of life via any means possible run rampant through this film, but it's real qualities lie in the smaller details, the subtle signs that Tyler and the narrator are in fact one and the same the whole time, which can only really be picked up on after a second or third watch. And it's a crime Pitt won sod all for his performance here. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 05/12/24 Full Review Read all reviews
